Summer 2026 delivered some of the most anticipated PC game releases, spanning major AAA titles and polished indie experiences. Here are five standout new releases that dominated July and August.
My personal favorite: Ubisoft’s pirate adventure returns with enhanced visuals, modernized gameplay, and a $200M+ grossing remaster. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced features updated naval combat, improved parkour mechanics, and a refreshed open world that maintains the original’s beloved Caribbean setting. The remaster includes all DLC content and supports 4K resolution with HDR.
343 Industries’ modernized classic brings Halo: Combat Evolved to today’s standards with upgraded graphics, smoother performance, and quality-of-life improvements. Halo: Campaign Evolved features remastered campaign levels, improved lighting, and enhanced AI behaviors while preserving the original’s iconic FPS gameplay and story.
The long-awaited revival of the classic franchise returns with updated rosters, improved gameplay mechanics, and an expanded Dynasty Mode. EA College Football 27 features realistic player animations, enhanced stadium atmospheres, and a revamped career mode that lets players experience the full journey from college to NFL draft.
The cooperative third-person shooter returns with expanded squad mechanics and deeper xenomorph encounters. Alien Fireteam Elite 2 introduces new enemy variants, improved AI squad tactics, and larger mission environments while maintaining the original’s tense atmosphere and tactical gameplay.
This one is a must buy for me having played the first two parts: The next chapter in Asobo Studio’s critically acclaimed series continues the emotional story of Amicia and Hugo de Rune. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy features enhanced visuals, improved stealth mechanics, and a darker narrative that expands the plague-ridden medieval world while maintaining the series’ signature cinematic storytelling.
