Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the fourth game of the Uncharted series that Naughty Dog  developed. Sony Computer Entertainment released the action-adventure fourth series on May 10, 2016. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End operates with a third-person shooter and is set exclusively for the PlayStation 4 video game console. As you would imagine, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End connects with the third game series, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and seeks to start the player’s adventure about three years after the events that happened in Drake’s Deception. For instance, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End continues with Nathan Drake’s character and starts another adventure with his reunited brother.

I must give credit to the developers of the game for staying in line with the previous series. The fourth series was developed by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckman, who were among the team that worked on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and The Last of Us. However, the two developers were given leading roles to develop the fourth series after the game’s former writer Amy Hennig and Director Justin Richmond left the team. Nonetheless, these changes, the game retained the beauty and even improved in some aspects. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End carries a large scope of the Uncharted series. And that is evident in its extended gameplay and adventure.

Talk About A Smooth Gameplay

You will discover that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End keeps most of its gameplay elements from earlier series. Although, they are improved, tweaked, and refined to work with PlayStation 4 new hardware console. The gameplay is as interesting as ever, featuring adventures to several countries in urban, aquatic places set for exploration. One of the things you will find amusing is the climbing which forms a major feature of the game. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, however, brings more detailing and player versatility to the playable areas.

Nathan Drake can now easily manoeuvre terrains by driving a piton into craggy rocks to build short bridges and handholds. An additional feature, a collapsible grapping hook, helps Drake swing to safety areas when the enemy fires or close in on enemies and attacks. Climbing and grappling become easy and more enjoyable.

There is a bit of dynamism in the combat system. First is that the enemies can now repel Drake’s attacks and attempt to draw their weapons during fistfights. Drake can also encounter grabbing and must do everything in his power to resist being dragged down. Unlike in other series, Drake may engage the stealth feature, which means he can hide in bushes without having to kill all the enemies in the area to proceed. The combat mode also comes with an alert system that helps both Drake and the enemies keep tabs on one another.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End portrays objects in the environments as destructible but retains Drake’s ability to shoot from any position or range. In the course of shooting, Drake can hide behind grain and sandbags. But as the bullets hit them, they shrink and reduce, making them ineffective covers. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has new and improved gameplay features, all of which further add to your playing experience.

There is the dialogue option system where you can strike conversations and an improved transport system that moved from only jeep to jeeps, a motorboat, and several destructible paths. You now have to find clues as opposed to other series where you get them automatically.

 A Brother’s Return

The previous game showed where Drake and his brother, Sam, infiltrated a Panamanian jail with Rafe’s help. The break-in turned out to be wrong when Rafe killed the prison warden. What later turned out to be a frantic escape showed Sam was shot while Drake and Rafe escaped. The immediate start of Uncharted 4 shows that Sam, who was thought dead, was, in fact, alive. He was incarcerated while surviving the gunshots. Sam returned to the game and his brother. I particularly love this immediate reunion which creates a good flow from the previous game into Uncharted 4. And since Uncharted 4 starts a few years after the last game’s events, it makes perfect sense.

Once A Hunter

Indeed, old lives never die. After the ugly incident, which saw Sam shot, Drake retired with his wife to live an ordinary life. However, his past life is not something he could forget. If you have played the previous series, you would understand the thrills that come with Drake’s adventures. The developers’ idea to creatively loop Drake’s life between the crazy past, boring present, and uncertain future is something intriguing. I knew there is so much more the moment Sam arrived. As it turned out, he came with another mission, providing Drake an escape from his present dry life. Drake lied to his wife, Elena, about why he wanted to travel, and that says much about how bad he is fed up with the present too peaceful a life.

Intrigues And Creativity Packed In One Adventure

Uncharted 4 offers the last adventure of a lifetime. Sam’s unexpected visit gave a new turn to the game, and Drake’s acceptance to help Sam retrieve the treasures of Avery signifies the chance to have the last fun. All the events, discoveries, and connected strings that form this adventure will give you heightened emotions and thrills. The story is straightforward, with many twists and turns that offer intensity to the game. As you get attached to this game, you will enjoy every bit of it.

Lots Of Packed Actions

Uncharted 4 offers plenty of controls that help Drake maneuver quickly and easily. You can jump, climb, sprint, swim, scale edges, and use ropes and grappling hooks while performing other acrobatic moves. Combat scenes got even more interesting with the available weapons like short-barreled guns, rifles, and shotguns.

If you are the type that likes to make a noise, the dynamite and grenades are for you. The combination of actions and adventure with a great storyline makes the game addictive. You can live the life of a soldier in the game as you seek to complete your adventure goals.

Final Submission On The Game

You could say Uncharted 4 is one of the best games on the PlayStation 4. Naughty Dog brilliantly crafted an interactive storytelling game combined with electrifying shootouts, compelling details, and amazing graphics to make the game a great one. The game perfected the interesting action-adventure life of Nathan Drake with its satisfying ending. I fell in love with every bit of this game, and it is something I would love to play whenever I have the chance. If you play the game, I bet you would not want it to end. It is like wanting to stay high on drugs for as long as possible.
