When you refer to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas as one of the best mobile and computer games ever, it’s no exaggeration. This action and adventure game was created and published by Rockstar North and Rockstar Games, respectively. The first Playstation version of the game was published in 2004 and was shortly followed by the next version in 2005. The mobile edition of the game was, nevertheless, not published until 2014.
Visual Overview
GTA San Andreas is a complete package of action, adventure, fun, and of course, adrenalin rush. The mobile edition of the game is accessible on iPhones, Android phones, and other mobile devices. When planning to play GTA San Andreas, you should get ready to be blown away by the incredible graphics, enriching color combinations, and improved character models – the first things you will notice about the game.
Storyline
The one thing I love most about this game is the freedom of movement and the variety of options it gives to players. Yes, the game is majorly about completing a set of tasks and missions but don’t worry, nothing is boring about this game.
The game’s storyline is centered on Carl Johnson (the central character model), who had just learned about the death of his mother – who was murdered on the streets – and decided to return to his childhood home of Los Santos.
Language and Scenes
When the game begins, you will learn a few things about CJ’s past, which will give you an insight into his childhood life. But let’s not get distracted by that. There’s so much that needs to be done in GTA San Andreas as CJ is drawn back to his former gangster group rather quickly. The storyline is centered on crimes, thuggery, corrupt authorities, drug, and other crime syndicates, etc. CJ soon discovers and makes some enemies who must be eliminated, unlocks missions that must be accomplished, etc. Like any other game of this nature, you should expect to experience graphic scenes, including drug use, sex scenes, violent scenes, and inappropriate words like lewd jokes and comments, cuss words, etc. We probably shouldn’t let kids play the game.
Let the Games Begin
For the main story, you will be faced with a minimum of 100 missions where you will unlock a number of interesting and funny characters who will subsequently make the story fun and provide a lighter atmosphere. Some major characters to look out for include Sweet (CJ’s brother), Big Smoke, and Ryder, who are also gang leaders. There is also the corrupt policeman, Frank Tenpenny, among other interesting characters.
Side Attractions, Vehicles, and Arms
Some of my favorite side attractions in the game include the parts where I got to play basketball, go shopping, make friends, etc. While playing the game, you will be allowed to choose a variety of vehicles, including but not limited to different brands of cars, motorbikes, and helicopters. Special vehicles will also be unlocked when you are about to undertake specific missions. These vehicles are selected depending on the nature of the mission and the tasks assigned.
Apart from the vehicles, you will also have a variety of weapons. You can also acquire weapons when you defeat, kill or disarm other characters in the game. Special weapons are also unlocked for certain missions to make your tasks easier.
Mission Overview
In GTA San Andreas, you accomplish most of your progress by completing different missions and tasks. Apart from the 100 missions set up for the main game, you will also unveil other missions as you progress. There are also mini-missions when you decide to go for some role plays. You can act as a fireman, a doctor, taxi driver, etc. Each of these acts comes with different missions and tasks that must be completed. You can also play smaller games and gamble to earn money in GTA San Andreas.
More Mission Details
Your first official mission in the game is to bring your gang (The Grove Street Family) back together. With their help and information gathered, you will undertake the mission of taking back your territory from your long-time rivals ( The Ballas) who had taken over the streets in your absence. To take back your territory, you will be made to undertake a series of tasks, starting with minor tasks. The tasks get complicated, more advanced, and more difficult as you progress in the game. While undertaking the different missions, you should expect to undertake many missions involving drive-by shooting, targeted shootouts, and other gangster affairs.
Missions According to City
The missions are mainly divided into major cities and some other locations. The main city Los Santos has over 30 missions, all targeted towards taking back your territory from the Ballas. The final mission in Los Santos is tagged ‘End of the Line.’ Next on the mission set is the Badlands, whose missions must be completed before San Fierro will be open to you. There are 24 main missions to be completed in San Fierro, after which you will move on to the desert, and finally, Las Venturas, where you must complete eighteen missions.
Cities in GTA Los Andreas
GTA San Andreas does not limit you to the city of Los Santos. Rather more cities will be unlocked as you progress in the game. Unlike the earlier Grand Theft Auto games, GTA San Andreas opens a broader array of locations. There are three major cities in GTA San Andreas. The first city is Los Santos, which is where CJ arrives at the beginning of the game. The next major city to be unlocked in the game is San Fierro, and Las Venturas is the third main city. There are, however, other cities that you can explore in the game. The plots and general overview of these cities are based on real-life cities in the United States. For example, Los Santos is based on Los Angeles, San Fierro is based on San Francisco, and of course, Las Venturas is based on Las Vegas.
Verdict
Although there were several controversies and criticisms against Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, which mainly concerned the graphic scenes, including the hidden sex scene, GTA San Andreas was nonetheless a fantastic game. From the captivating storyline to the dramatic twists, the crazy missions, and mini-games, to the character model and overall visuals, GTA got it right.
