Mini Militia is a free-to-play 2D shooter game released for iOS and Android devices. Mini militia is a sequel to the stickman shooter game called Doodle Army. Since Mini Militia isn’t a console or PC game, you shouldn’t expect extra layers of complexity from it, in fact, there are very few things you can expect in terms of quality. There are bad phone games and good phone games. In this review, we’ll find out which one Mini Militia is.

The Story Is Nonexistent

Well, that’s it. Why does the game exist, then you may want to ask, why would players want to do anything? The answer to both of these questions is pretty simple; Mini Militia is a multiplayer game. This means that the goal of the game is to kill your friends and give them the opportunity to kill you for as long as they can manage. There is no kingdom to defeat, no princess to save, no evil to avert, and no kingdom to fight for.

The lack of a storyline may be shocking, but games like this are really common on phones. Since mobile games usually don’t have the luxury of building a genuinely expansive world, so they learn to make do with the little they have, and it appears that little Mini Militia doesn’t involve a story.

Gameplay

Since Mini Militia doesn’t have a storyline, its saving grace is the gameplay. In terms of physics and actual gameplay mechanics, Mini Militia has none. This is partly because this is a 2D game, and there are limits to what you can do with a 2D game. The game itself is extremely entertaining; you can create a cluster of friends and enemies and then start fighting them like in a grand battle or something.

The game offers a lot of attack options which makes for pretty impressive gaming. You can get sniper, bombs, bullets, shotguns, and flamethrowers to kill enemies in very creative ways. Like most combat games, the game comes with a blood bar that tells you how long you’re going to be alive. And like with most combat games, you can power this blood bar up with special items.

Online/Offline Mode Is Neat

Today, there are so many games you can’t even play if you aren’t connected to the internet. The game comes with an offline mode where you can practice and an online mode where you can play with friends or strangers from all around the world.

It’s a great way to build friendships and also a decent way for friends to play together. Distance isn’t a problem with the game as you can connect with your friends on LAN even if they are very far away. While it may not be as glamorous as other games, it’s still really enjoyable.

Graphics Aren’t What You’d Expect From A 2D Game.

There’s nothing to say about the graphics of the game — and that’s not a bad thing. Mini Militia doesn’t sell itself as a particularly serious game, so it’s perfectly reasonable that the graphics are basic and aren’t detailed.

What Makes The Game Good?

Since Mini Militia isn’t a console or PC game, there’s very little to say in terms of graphics and mechanics. However, there are still some attractions that make the game worth playing. For instance, the guns have a very crazy range. This means that you can still kill an enemy even when you’re not in a visible range.

There are many different backgrounds to play the game in. You can choose to play somewhere modern like a city or somewhere scarier like a forest. The game has open world maps that make long vertical fights with rocket boots possible. This mode of killing is particularly exhilarating because you’re flying and at the same time hunting your enemies down to kill them.

If you want a bit more competition or if you think your friends aren’t good enough to beat you, you can try the survival mode where you play against bots and are the only player. You can even choose two weapons with a brownie point, and you get shields too, if that’s what you want.

What Makes It Bad

You could say that the game is simplistic, but that’s part of the appeal. It isn’t a serious game, and it doesn’t sell itself as one. So, while you would be correct to say that the game is simplistic, we’re not sure that would be a bad thing— since that’s the point of the game.

However, this doesn’t mean the game doesn’t have faults. It does get repetitive after a while, which is something most players wouldn’t enjoy. But again, it’s a mobile game, so there isn’t very much to expect in that regard.

Verdict

Mini Militia is a simple mobile game that you can get lost in for hours. The action is fast-paced, the guns are loud, and the players are hilarious. If you’re looking to pass the time on your phone, this is the game for you.
