Slime Rancher. The new game was created because the developers ran out of room to add more features to the first game. Hence, they created a newer, bigger, and more exciting world in Slime Rancher 2. It was developed and published by Monomi Park. This adventure/exploration game will be available on Xbox Series X and Series S and Windows 10 PC platforms in 2022.

Continuation of an Intriguing Storyline

Slime Rancher 2 follows the adventures of Beatrix LeBeau as she explores a new world. In this game, she moves to a new world called Rainbow Island and is set to build more slime ranches and explore the lands. This pristine island is full of old technologies and unexplored natural resources. There is still a science lab, and you get to access it from the beginning, unlike the original game where you had to wait. 

Beatrix will also find new species of happy slimes that are pretty different from Slime Rancher. The slimes here aren’t different, as there are still many similarities with the slimes in the old world. Some of the newest slimes to expect are the gorgeous bouncy cotton slimes, bat-themed Halloween slimes, and the wiggly aquatic angler slime.

Making a New Home in a New world

Once Beatrix enters this new world, she will settle in and create a new home. Like she did in the first game, Beatrix will build all kinds of structures and build new ranches and farms. Her farm will be located in a beautiful conservatory, surrounded by beautiful glass walls that provide an outstanding view of the environment. She must collect adequate resources to upgrade her backpack, build new gadgets, or make the conservatory larger than before.

To bend in with the new world, Beatrix must uncover the island’s deepest secrets and find out the true purpose of Rainbow Island. Her journey is an adventurous one, and you will get to appreciate the beauty of this new island and the beautiful creatures that live within. 

Endless Possibilities and Expansive Gameplay

Slime Rancher 2 is a remarkable improvement to Slime Rancher. The creators were able to improve upon the different limitations of the original game while creating an unlimited world of possibilities in the new world.

For instance, in Slime Rancher, it was impossible to explore some of the structures you built extensively because the slimes won’t let you do so. This is, however, not the case in Slime Rancher 2, where you can explore as much space as you wish. The system provided new slimes and new resources in the original game each time you built a new ranch. In the new game, however, you will find an exciting blend of old and new features that make every ranch unique yet familiar in some ways. 

Also, there is a high level of interconnectivity in Slime Rancher 2, enabling players to connect better with the environment. If you’re standing on a cliff, for example, you can have a nice view of the ground, including the grasses, the flowers, the rivers, or even creatures moving around. 

Overall, Slime Rancher 2 is more colorful than the original game, making the new world more vibrant and inviting to explore. The first game design was inspired by the western cattle ranches, which is evident in the dusty settings. You would find yourself in a whole new world with new and beautiful inventions that make the game feel more refreshing and challenging. Just like you did in the original game, you will spend most of your time building ranches, farming, and experimenting with different slimes to create new hybrids.

Truly a Rainbow Island

It’s very clear from the game graphics and designs that Monomi Park appropriately named this new game. Expect various rainbow colors that leave the island glowing all day. Interestingly, there isn’t a single black design in Slime Rancher 2. 

When I first learned that so many colors would characterize the latest game, I wondered if I should expect an obnoxious color riot game with loud and shouty colors jumping right at my face. I’ve played many games in the past with such issues. The developers intended to create a colorful world but ended up making something horrible and not pleasant to the eye. 

Upon checking out the trailer, I realized that Slime Rancher 2 was nothing like those horrible games upon checking out the trailer. It is beautiful in all aspects, from the environment to the slimes and other creatures on the island. The game features pastel forests and fields filled with all shades of colors. Even the dumps and ruins are beautiful, and the mountain and buildings. The pastures are greener, with many trees pestered around, and you can see the clear waters with new variants of slimes sliding through them.

If you played Slime Rancher in the past, you must agree that it was an incredible game that draws in its players. Expect even more from Slime Rancher 2. The new game is unique but incorporates many features from the original game and a few designs. It is also more expansive, as the developers introduce more expansion possibilities.
