Eldarya is a fantasy mobile game filled with adventure and romance. The fairy world is nothing short of magical, and the landscape is perfect for adventure. Fun characters add glamour to gameplay, and the story shoots you into a world you’ve never been. Commonly referred to as a visual novel, Eldarya is set in a fantasy world, with one main player character meeting other characters.

The game was released in French by its developer, Beemov, but it’s since been released in other languages. Now we have English, Italian, Portuguese, German, Hungarian, Spanish, Russian, and Polish. The game is excellent on customization, allowing you to decide on your character’s clothing and gear them up with equipment.

A Simple, But Interesting Story

Eldarya is an all-round entertaining game – right from the start. The entire country is beautiful, and thank goodness you begin with a walk through it as Erika. However, the fun of traversing the incredibly fascinating landscape quickly dissipates as you get trapped in a circle of mushrooms. At first, these mushrooms appear as an interesting piece of nature. But that’s only the beginning of your entrapment. The mushrooms send you to an unfamiliar room; all this while, you’re completely helpless. 

In the room, you are completely transfixed, and only a large blue crystal catches your fancy. You step towards it, but a mysterious lady stops you before you get a hand on it. This lady, better described as a fox lady, has black hair, fox tails, and a warthog’s face. She then throws you into prison, which makes your situation even worse.

The prison then becomes the catalyst for the enthralling experiences you get thereafter. From there, you get to see other places in the country, meet strange creatures, and discover mythical things. The entire plot is split into several plots, and that gives rhythm to the game. As you complete the objectives of one episode, you move to the next, and then on and on. The rewards for completing each episode include artworks viewable in your gallery.

A Dynamic Gameplay

Locations in the game are either panoramic or stationary but are always beautiful. To move from one location to another, you need to spend 10 Maana, one of the game’s currencies. The paranomic landscapes are particularly fascinating to view: they have a translucent oval appearing on the far sides of the screen. Moving over the semi-oval gives the locations an intriguing scene.

Progression is heavily dependent on the decisions you make, and there are plenty of them. You can control everything that goes on around you with these choices. Also, you can shape a lot of things by the conversations you have with other characters. As you move around, you can click on any character you meet to start a conversation. Thankfully, the 2D design of the game makes this aesthetically appealing. 

Eldarya has other features that make the game unique. One of such is the Love-o-Meter (LOM) which shows the relationship between the main character and other specific characters. During dialogue with these specific characters, a correct answer raises the LOM reading, and a wrong answer does the exact opposite. Another feature is Episode Replays that allows players re-play an episode for a reward of 100 Maana. Interestingly, an Episode Replay can be activated when the current episode is yet to be completed.

A Game Of Hot Romance

One of the hallmarks of the game is the romance between characters that is always brewing. When you meet characters, you can decide to develop a crush on them. That gives you their images which you can store in your gallery and view at any time.  If you’re a female, Eldarya will be a particularly enjoyable game. There happens to be only one female character that can crush on all the male characters in the game.

While the game allows conversation with non-player characters, it’s impossible to converse with other real players. However, there’s a special in-game forum where players can meet and communicate with one another. Better still, players can take the conversation outside of the game. You never can tell where you find a soul mate!

In-game shop

Eldarya features multiple shops where players can buy different items such as pets, clothes, and even backgrounds. You can buy new items to replace the ones you’re currently using. But once you buy an item, it stays in your inventory for use anytime you choose. The game has two currencies, Coins and Maana, for purchasing these items. These currencies are earnable by completing episodes. You also have the option to buy them with real money. 

Verdict

Eldarya is an enjoyable simulation game that has so many positives. The story is an intriguing one, with a beautiful 2D design. Its romance simulation and interesting characters stamp strongly in your mind, giving you enthralling gameplay.
