GAME OF SULTANS

Game of Sultans is a historical strategy game that features everything you’d expect in the genre: heirs, armies, consorts, and unions. This RPG, although familiar in certain aspects, is a unique empire-building game that handles its mechanics in a different way. It’s, therefore, not surprising the large community of players that have embraced the game.

Developed by Mechanist Games, Game of Sultan’s historical setting is superb. On top of that, the Turkish Folklore that traverses the plot is not only interesting but surprisingly accurate. The story is all about the ancient Ottoman Empire that once held sway in Turkey. In Game of Sultans, you are thrown into the Empire by fate, to lead affairs of the Empire. It’s incredible to see the dynamics of the popular Harems that hallmarked the old empire. The Ottomans keep their concubines in the harem and raise children with them.

A Gameplay That Takes You Through Everything

You start in Game of Sultans as the crown prince of the Ottoman Empire. The king dies off almost immediately, and the throne becomes yours. As a greenhorn to the throne, you have to learn the dynamics of leadership. In a design that might cringe on some people, you have sexy-looking animated models leading you through this learning process.

As Game of Sultans is a typical MMORPG, you have different paths you can begin your game on. When you start on a particular server, you can’t maintain your progress when you jump to another. However, the possibility of changing course at any time in the game is an exciting one. You can connect with other players on your server and delve into the real multiplayer aspects of the game. Besides, Game of Sultans is more about competing with other players across the globe in an MMO environment.

I think it’s important to mention that Game of Sultans does its best to make the game as social as possible. There’s a built-in translation feature that lets players communicate regardless of their location. Also, there are chat rooms for players to meet and communicate, albeit with some censorship.

Back to gameplay, you have several places and rooms in your empire, all displayed on your screen. These rooms have their unique purposes and specific functions in the Empire. The Harem, for example, is where you keep your favorite concubines; the living quarters is where your subjects make their homes, and the army screen is where you manage your soldiers and prepare them for battles.

Talking about battles, there isn’t so much to look forward to, save the joy of seeing your strategy produce a win. After deploying your soldiers, you just fold your hands and watch the battle play out on its own. You can’t control your men: you can’t do anything. However, the animations are fantastic giving you lots of cinematic displays to enjoy. In addition to these battles, Game of Sultans gives you several other contents to engage in.

The Harem Will Pull You In

Game of Sultans is advertised in such a way that when you start the game, you can’t wait to see the harem. Thankfully, it’s a big part of the game. You get to move around different parts of the town and get to see numerous potential concubines. Thereafter, you meet with them over and over again. When it’s time to move to the next level, you propose marriage and add a heap to your family.

There are series of quests, numerous events, tech development, and the pursuit of achievements. Yet, the main hold of the game is conquering other kingdoms and gathering concubines. In all, it offers captivating gameplay.

A Free-to-play Wonder Of A Game

We all know how many mobile strategy games are almost impossible to play without spending some real money and that can be frustrating, to say the least. If you expect Game of Sultans to take after that tradition, you’ll be fantastically disappointed. That’s the only kind of disappointment we need in our gaming experience. Game of Sultans is completely free and doesn’t require you to spend any dime right from the first stage to the last.

However, there’s an option to buy in-app items if you want to gain an edge over your opponents in competitive play. The items are purchasable using Crystals, the in-game currency, which costs from $1 to $100. While some players argue that money-spending is necessary for competitive play, you can only delve into the game to find out. Looking at the game’s graphics and mechanics, it’s impossible to understand why this game is free.

The animations are clean and well-polished, with a dramatic flair to their movement. The characters, especially the models, feel alive every time. What about the terrain? It’s a beauty to behold. Overall, Game of Sultans gives you the feel of a modern PC strategy game. While the advanced visuals of the game were a problem some years back, the advent of high-tech smartphones in recent years has changed all of that.

Final Words

Game of Sultans has racked up over 10 million downloads on Google Playstore and that’s a testament to the game’s greatness. It’s a fun and entertaining game to play, with beautiful visuals that make it look just like every advanced PC strategy game. The RPG elements are awesome, playing out in the way you develop your conquests and harem. To think that Game of Sultans is completely free to play is nothing but a thrill.
