A fully packed wonder developed by 4A Games, Metro Exodus is an epic first-person shooter game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Released on the 14th of February, 2019, by Deep Silver, Metro Exodus has steadily given its players thrilling doses of adventure and survival in its gory game world.

This horror-packed wonder can be played on Steam, PS4, Xbox and PC, among others.

A Familiar Yet Well Done Storyline!

Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus requires you to survive a post-apocalyptic Russia with infected entities and untold dangers scattered around the whole continent.

It is the year 2036—nearly half a century since the last nuclear war. The Earth has been dramatically devastated as a once flourishing planet has turned to nothing but a harsh wasteland. A few thousand have thus far survived the war. They all cling to the last straw of human civilization beneath the surface.

The surface is scarred and poisonous. The aftermath of the war that never should have happened. What’s more? Monsters are on the rise! Humans and animals alike who have gone through forced mutations have all turned to rabid beasts with no mind of their own – results of the nuclear showdown. They’re an existential threat to the continued survival of humans on what is left of Earth.

You are Artyom, and your journey begins in the ruins deep beneath the city of Moscow. If you wish to stay alive, then you must leave Moscow. You must fight to stay alive, even as you escape the harsh wastelands all through different seasons; spring, summer, autumn or the most deadly winters. But you’re not alone. Your band of Spartan Rangers are with you through it all. Make it to the East, and you just might find a haven for you and your crew.

Gameplay Features

Climb aboard the heavy-duty steam train Aurora for the journey ahead. Here, you’ll band with a few survivors on your quest to find a safer place far East. Metro Exodus isn’t a game where you jump from one predetermined level to another. Here, you’ll be fully immersed in the non-linear storyline that has you experiencing each episode of action and adventure. It’s way more than just clearing levels.

Prepare yourself. This is going to be a bumpy ride! Only the strong, smart and brave can survive Metro Exodus. Your wit, speed and skills will be stretched as you battle to survive each encounter with mutated hoards. Be wary, so you don’t get caught by surprise – each level is filled with terror.

Choices Have Consequences. Don’t get hasty in making choices, you or your entire band might pay gravely for it. Not everyone will make it to the end, some of your comrades will die, and much of that will be based on your choices. This isn’t a game for faint hearts or young minds. In here, you’ll find violence and gore, partial nudity and sexual suggestions. People under 18 are advised to play something milder.

Experience the thrills of a post-apocalyptic world with extreme weather conditions. You’ll be travelling through the wastelands with full day and night cycles. What’s more? Spring may be stunningly beautiful, but be careful a mutant may be lurking in the greens. Beyond summer and autumn in Metro Exodus, brace yourself for the horrors of a radioactive winter.

Not all battles are won head-on. For the most part, stealth will keep you alive long enough to make it through each life-threatening encounter. Scavenge for weapons and keep your weapons clean. It might be a game, but it sticks to natural rules – a dirty gun gets jammed, and that could sign you up for an embarrassing death. Craft new weapons and engage your enemies via stealth or direct combat.

This highly advanced game boasts highly detailed graphics and simulations, quite like the real deal. Feel the wind whistle past your ears. Pay attention to the sounds and flickering lights – a mutant may be prowling the area. Metro Exodus gives you a fully immersive world that makes its terror palpable. Switch between English, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, and German languages at your convenience. There are 14 languages supported, with eight available as Interface, Audio and Subtitle selection.

Add Ons

Make your pick out of three add on game modes. Rather than experience the Metro adventures via the eyes of Artyom alone, feel free to experience it from the perspectives of others. View the Metro Exodus world via Sam’s eyes, one of the Spartan Rangers and the only American aboard the Aurora. This can be gotten via the add on – Metro Exodus Expansion Pass. Other Metro Exodus add on modes include; Sam’s Story and the Two Colonels.

Conclusion

Overall, Metro Exodus is an immersive game that offers exquisite details on world-building, character development and the overall story. The graphics is excellent, as is the storyline. What’s more, the levels are not overly complex or extremely easy to warrant a loss of interest. It’s packed with great replayability and progress-saving features; hence you can easily reload from your last saved point or replay failed levels.

The slight change from linear to open-world gameplay makes it a lot more interesting than initial releases by the Metro franchise. You’ll hardly lose interest playing this game, as there is always one more scene, one more action, one more battle that will keep you constantly glued. Seeing as it allows self-crafting and maintenance of weapons, you’ll definitely feel a lot more engaged rather than having your weapons automatically set – more like a little lesson on gadgets maintenance while enjoying the thrills of playing the game.

No doubt, Metro Exodus a highly immersive game with a well-developed storyline. So far, the Metro franchise has maintained its track record of releasing excellent games, and the Metro Exodus is no exception.
