Color Bump 3D is an arcade game that puts players in control of a ball as it smashes other same-colored objects.   The game employs a simple concept, and there aren’t plenty of rules to keep in your head. Just avoid objects that have a different color from your ball, and you’re good to go.

All you have to do is swipe your ball left and right as it moves along the path. You don’t even have to swipe in either direction in some stages – leave the ball moving in a straight line. However, you can move the ball up, down, right, and left by touching the corresponding side on your phone screen. To beat the obstacles in front of you, swipe behind your ball, and the boost should do some damage. Color Bump 3D is available for free download on Google PlayStore and App Store. However, you’ll need a new model smartphone to get the best out of the game.

A good game to relax and pass the time

Color Bump 3D is the kind of game you could play non-stop for several hours. But that depends on how well you can navigate the obstacle-filled terrain. The game is pretty straightforward, with no complex mechanics to bore you. You have to move a white ball with a shiny tail through various obstacles till you get to the end.

If you’re able to keep your nerves down, you should be able to cruise straight to the finish line. That doesn’t happen so often, though. So you’ll need several attempts before you get the taste of victory. Get prepared to crush many triangles, balls, and other shaped objects on your way there.  While it’s easy getting small things out of the way, it’s often challenging when you attempt to do so with large objects.

However, you can only crash into objects that have the same color as your ball. Any collision with an object of different color and your ball will wreck into pieces. That’s the last thing you want except, of course, you enjoy the brilliant animation that demonstrates the explosion. During the explosion, a white light flickers on your screen, and the ball shatters in slow motion.

No story, just go ahead and smash obstacles

Color Bump 3D isn’t one of those games that take you through a captivating story. The simple task before you is enthralling enough. Take it as though the ball is in trouble in a constricted tube and needs you to help it navigate. Like a bowling ball, you have to smash other obstacles on the way. But you also have to avoid several things in the process.

Although your ball starts as white, it doesn’t remain that way. It changes to blue, orange, yellow, purple, green, and others. However, the objects you have to knock down stays white throughout the game. On the other hand, the obstacles you must avoid have a specific color for each level you play. That’s part of the reason why Color Bump 3D is so visually satisfying. It may not be the most remarkable game for graphics, but it doesn’t perform poorly. The constant sight of objects flying away when the ball crashes into them is enjoyable.  It almost feels as though it’s a real-life experience as you watch the obstacles fly into thin air.

The first 100 levels have a low difficulty level, but the levels become harder after then. However, you may have already mastered the art and skill of evading obstacles that you won’t face many problems. That explains why you sometimes don’t get enough satisfaction as you would expect from completing these more challenging levels. We all enjoy the victory that causes us to sweat.

Succeeding in Color Bump 3D demands that you learn how to tell a harmful object from the one you can run into. Some players make that mistake, and they suffer a knock as a result. There’s a status bar at the upper part of the screen to show you how far you’ve traveled. That could offer some dose of encouragement if you’ve covered a considerable distance and a source of motivation if you have a long way to go.

Conclusion

Color Bump 3D is an entertaining game to play, anytime, any day. Whether you’re on a trip, having coffee, or need to take a break from work, this game offers an excellent way to relax. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve played the game a thousand times before; you’re still going to enjoy every bit of it. The 3D graphics and animations are impressive and contribute to the game’s pleasant environment.

However, the game is replete with too many ads, which can be very frustrating. If you happen to lose by coming in contact with other colored objects, you need to watch an ad before continuing. There’s an option to skip the ad, but you’ll have to start the game all over again. The cycle never ends except you decide to spend some money to buy the game. For a game that’s supposed to be free, that isn’t the best way to go.

Color Bump has colorful graphics that are undeniably fantastic, but the game would have done better with a catchy background sound. Also, there are no sound effects to add that exciting spark, not even when you smash other objects. We can excuse these downsides and focus on the responsive controls and exciting challenges the game offers. Although the gameplay might seem repetitive, you’ll find yourself always coming back to Color Bump 3D. The best part of it all is that you’re immediately put at the edge of your seat when you get inside. That’s why you should give the game a try.
