The basketball simulation game was developed by Visual Concepts and released by 2K Sports. If you have played the current-gen, you will see many improvements and upgrades NBA 2K21 Next Gen brings. It takes the 22nd in the ranks of releases, succeeding NBA 2K20. The game is only playable on PlayStation5 and Xbox Series XIS. Apple Arcade released the NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition on April 2, 2021. 

The Gameplay

NBA 2K21 Next Gen is the next big thing in NBA 2K21. With many improvements and upgrades, there is no doubt you will enjoy the gameplay of the game. The game is more than playing basketball. It offers a life of reality with a variety of options for different play formats. The developers really did get a lot of content into the version. You can play different modes like MyCareer, MyPlayer Builder, MyNBA, The WNBA, and even make the journey to The City. There are challenges on all sides, and you can only enjoy so much. You can create a male or female player, but the female character is available only on next-gen consoles. The different play formats or campaigns have different features that come with them. So you can only know about each when you enter to play.

For Those Who Fancy Dribbling

Dribbling has always been a bit of an issue with previous versions. However, with NBA 2K21 Next Gen, there is a whole lot of improvement in player movements. Call it the sleek movement feature or whatever, but this game offers dribbling a next-level enhancement. This is one of the things I am, and I think many would be impressed with all the game features. The game helps you easily control the speed of your movements and delivers an authentic skill gap between moves. If you are good at dribbling or have always wanted to try a combo of moves to beat your opponent, this game gives you that chance. It gets better even when you combine those nice moves using the right players.

You Can Shoot Like A Pro

It does not become challenging when it comes too easy. One of the problems of the current-gen version is the bad shooting. Small shot meter, unprofessional shooting, and perhaps shooting was just too easy are those major complaints received from the community. The feedback from the community must have partly influenced the shooting improvement the next-gen version enjoys. Now, the shot meter is larger, and it comes with a shot-aiming feature. Generally, the shooting is more balanced, professional and comes with more control, unlike before.

Players’ Weight And Speed Difference Is Obvious

When it comes to choosing a team, it is always good to go for a better team. In contact sports especially, the weight and speed of players matter a lot in the game. NBA 2K21 Next Gen brings obvious classification using the weight and speed of players. It is true, weight and speed of a player will definitely influence the performance of the player against his opponents. In NBA 2K21 Next Gen, there is an apparent difference between bigger forwards and smaller guards. As a result of these physical qualities, each player moves, dribbles, runs, and jumps differently. They even handle the ball differently. Everyone would love the fact that players are very different, and this is good for immersion. You want to ensure that you play the ball around to get the best out of each player.

It is not an overstatement to say NBA 2K21 NextGen is the most beautiful of all. If you have played the previous games, you would understand how true this is. NBA 2K21 Next-Gen looks just phenomenal when it comes to visuals. Everything seems so real; objects, hands, shoes, the whole body. The environment will keep you engaged for long and immerse you in its beauty. It is more than this even. The movements of the players, the ball, and other objects in the game are simply amazing. You can almost get lost looking at the visuals.

If you have ever attended a real NBA game, you can picture the atmosphere and environment. The place is alive and always busy, with many activities going on inside the court, on the sidelines, and all around the arena.  Now bring that into this sports game. The coaching staff goes about their duties on the sidelines, the players work their moves up and down the playing field, and the audience does what it is best known for. The pre-game activities in the game are on another level. With NBA 2K21 NextGen, you can never be ignorant of what goes on in a typical NBA arena.

Better Chance For Player Building And Upgrade

Before NBA 2K21 Next Gen, there were restrictions placed on building players and creating upgrades in the MyPlayer Building. Perhaps it was because the developers wanted to keep the balance and focused more on online play. However, NBA 2K21 Next Gen now brings leniency to the player building and upgrade process. So you have a better chance and control at creating players and processing upgrades.

It Feels Like A Real Battle Between The Dribbler And Defender

NBA 2K21 Next Gen comes with improvements and quicker navigations that help you defend better. You can flow well by anticipating the player’s moves and quickly getting your player ready to get the ball. NBA 2K21 Next-Gen gives you the chance to stop players with realistic and good defensive stop movements. I did enjoy how perfect timing, good moves, and easy navigations can all combine to help me recover the ball from a player.
