Origin Guilty Gear -Strive-
Developed and published by Arc System Works, Guilty Gear -Strive- is an exciting 2D/3D hybrid fighting video game. Guilty Gear Strive was first announced in 2019 and was finally released in June 2021. Guilty gear Strive is available on Microsoft Windows PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5 and Arcade.
Guilty Gear strive is the seventh installment in the mainline of the Guilty Gear series and the 25th overall. It picks up from where the story stopped in the previous game. Guilty Gear Strive chronicles the long-lasting battle within a group of leading characters. One of these characters is a highly skilled bounty Hunter named Sol Badguy.
Weeks after defeating the threat in the Universal Will, Sol Badguy is hit with some shocking news. He learns that his enemy That Man, has surrendered to the government. He wants revenge on many more characters, including the time-traveling magician, I-No, the mysterious Happy Chaos, and the brooding vampire Niagoriyuki. They are all involved in their own intricately woven storylines, you are sure to stay hooked and interested all through. Guilty Gear strive is a great game for beginners and video game players who appreciate brilliantly written storylines and gameplay.
Gameplay
Guilty Gear Strive maintains the core essence of its many predecessors in the Guilty Gear franchise. It has retained the classic 5 button layout but also features some interesting additions such as the Dash feature that allows players to dash. Guilty Gear strive has impressive mechanics for easy playing – Tension And Negative Penalty, Faultless Defense, Instant Block, Overdrive Attacks, and Throws are only some of the excellent features that you can combine to make your playing much more interesting.
Guilty Gear Strive has also introduced some changes to the Gatling system such that weak attacks no longer universally cancel into attacks that are heavier. Instead, they can be included in combos to make command normals or special moves. The only moves that can deliver a hard knockdown are crouching or ground throws in terms of features dedicated to status effects. Without these characters just simply roll and recover. A new feature that I was most excited to explore is the “wall Break.” When a character is backed into a corner and has taken damage they can somehow adhere to the wall. When an attack is delivered on the stuck character, the wall gets damaged. Continued attacks lead to entirely breaking the wall and ultimately causing a stage transition. This gives the attacker a temporary Positive Bonus.
A New Look Into The Guilty Gear Universe
Arc System Works took a much appreciated but unexpected turn in the story approach for Guilty Gear Strive. In previous installments, players were meant to find out what happened in an arcade mode where fights would break up chunks of the storyline. In Guilty Gear Strive, Players have been given a full-on immersive cinematic experience that has been divided into several chapters.
This would mean less interactivity for many players who are used to the different approaches for previous installments in the franchise. With the reduced amount of game interactivity provided, Guilty Gear Strive manages to offer closure on a number of fronts and answer questions that have plagued players over time. Guilty Gear Strive focuses on each specific character and gives a tremendous amount of detail with more than enough action.
Fight for your cause!
The story continues from where the previous installment, Guilty Gear XRD, stopped — three weeks after the Universal Will incident. It mostly chronicles Sol Badguy’s long-standing story of Vengeance upon his antagonist, That Man. That Man, also known as Asuka R. Kreuz, is responsible for discovering Magical science and creating the Gears.
One of the very first Gears he created years ago turns out to be Sol Badguy. Badguy is not too keen on what That Man did to him and now seeks revenge against him while pursuing and destroying all the other gears he made.
This discovery launches into action when I-No breaks out a mysterious character named Happy Chaos from prison at Illyria Castle. I-No is eventually captured while Badguy chases Happy Chaos.
Guilty Gear Strive starts with Badguy discovering that That Man has surrendered to the government and now spearheads a summit to erase Badguy from the world. For a significant portion of the guilty Gear journey, That Man has been accused of many crimes. Guilty Gear Strive soon reveals that Happy Chaos is the actual perpetrator of many of his assumed crimes. In fact, Happy Chaos is a more evil version of Kreuz and seeks to destroy everyone.
Characters, Modes, And Fights You Can’t Resist
Guilty Gear Strive features three different modes: The first mode is the Offline Mode which consists of the Arcade, Versus, and Survival Modes, as well as a Dojo sub-menu that includes the Tutorial, Mission, and Training Modes. The Network Mode is the second and encompasses Online Match, Ranking, and Quick Start. The Story Mode consists of Play Story and GG World.
There are fifteen playable characters upon launch but now features just a little more. These characters include Sol Badguy, police force captain Ky Kiske, pirate May, insane medical genius and healer Faust, and presidential guard Potemkin. The other playable characters are Chipp Zanuff, Zato-ONE, Millia Rage, Axl Low, Anji Mito, I-No, Leo Whitefang, Ramlethal Valentine, Jack-O’ Valentine, Giovanna, and Goldlewis Dickinson. Nagoriyuki is a vampire samurai who is also a boss character.
