VECTOR 2 – CONTINUING THE EARLIER ADVENTURE
Vector 2 is a side-scrolling arcade game that was released on July, 6th 2017. Vector 2 was released after the prequel (Vector 1) by the same developers and publishers – Nekki. If you found the first game interesting, then you should be looking forward to playing Vector 2. The single-player arcade game is available on Android, iPad, iPhone, and Microsoft Windows platforms. It is available for purchase on the App Store and Google Play, and it can be played on both iOS and Android devices.
Remarkable 3D Graphics and Gameplay
Vector 2 is, without doubt, one of the most interesting running-based games I’ve played this year. It is a horizontal auto-scroll created in 3D graphics. The game’s graphics make it feel like you are running in an entirely new world. Vector’s clones remind me of Alice in the Resident Evil, but a more sophisticated and modernized version.
Vector 2, just like the previous game, has no storyline or a reason for the character’s constant racing. Rather, he just keeps running, overcoming several obstacles, while trying to cover enough grounds before the time finally runs out. Vector 2 has three major objectives; Don’t Fall, don’t trip, just keep running.
An Improvement in Vector 2 Game Design
Vector 2 has the same gameplay and graphics as its predecessor but the improved level design and optimized performance. There are so many improvements in Vector 2 when compared to the previous version. The developers added some quality to make up for the minor flaws in its prequel, Vector. Also, the background, the environment and then the details look brisker than in the first game. The runner’s appearance is also different from that of the runner in Vector.
While the Vector character in the previous game looked a bit glittery, the character in looked more blocky. This is an impressive improvement, as I was a bit put off with the previous character. It felt like I was just controlling a shadowy figure through the game. Vector 2 also gave the character little ammo and took away all the glittery looks.
Fighting Off Traps and Obstacles
This time around, the game’s character is not being chased by any antagonist. Hence, no one gets to catch you while playing the game. However, you should watch out for the bombs and lasers, as they could strike you down very easily. You can also fall flat and unable to rise or bump your head against a very sharp wall. Bumping your head for the first time makes you dizzy since no one is chasing after you. The main focus is on the player’s movements and the speed of their reflexes. Below are common traps to watch out for.
Laser
The laser in Vector 2 is visible above or below the corridors. A faint glow can be seen emanating from the buttons above and below. If it is half full, it’s best to wait until the laser is no longer visible.
Cliffs
If you fall into a shallow hole from a cliff, you can easily climb out. But if there are gorges beneath the ground, there is no escape. And you will have to start the journey from the bottom again
Spinning balls
You will lose many health points if hit by black spheres with spikes. These can appear suddenly behind you.
Retractable barrier
These usually appear unexpectedly, as they are suddenly pulled out of ledges in the ceiling. The barriers crush you; hence you must escape swiftly.
Exploring the Control System
Vector 2 has a really interesting control scheme that takes some time getting used to, but you should have no problem adjusting after a few hours playing the game. It features some slightly complex mechanics such as wall-running, sliding, vaulting over obstacles, jumping up walls, and so on. Since they are not overly complicated to master, players who aren’t experienced will be able to enjoy it just as much as someone who does have experience in the genre.
Players can control the runner by swiping up to jump or swiping down to slide under an obstacle. You can swipe left and right to give him a fast speed boost to gain more grounds. Although there is sometimes a slight lag in registering the player’s moves, this won’t be a problem when you get used to the game, as there are ways around it. The game also has auto-scroll features that you can use to your advantage.
Checking Out the Items and Upgrades
There is a window for equipment, one for each upgrade kit which is usually useful when running within the track. Vector 2 is designed to equip the runner with many protective items such as boots, gloves, helmets, and vests. Each of the items can be upgraded with the tokens collected during the runs.
Complex Game Levels and objectives
Vector 2 has so many missions and different objectives for players to complete. The objectives are more varied, including completing laps, collecting items in limited time, or avoiding obstacles in your way. Players can complete different objectives in various environments. These environments range from buildings to beaches to mountains with varying weather conditions, adding another layer of depth to the gameplay. Vector 2 is an open-world game. Players can explore the different environments, complete missions and objectives to progress through the game.
Levels are numbered sequentially, with levels 1-5 being introductory levels that are easy to play for beginners. Levels 6-10 are more challenging and encourage players to practice their skills in different game areas. The remaining levels are difficult and require a lot of skill to finish. The Vector 2 game is designed not to have to complete all of the levels to beat it. Instead, they can complete certain challenges or missions, which will lead them onto other missions or objectives which they may not have thought about doing otherwise.
Conclusion
Vector is a fast-paced, parkour-style game that takes players on an adrenaline-filled ride while also exploring the life of a professional runner. It features responsive, high-quality graphics and an immersive soundtrack that immerses players in its world. Vectors’ gameplay is one of the most innovative features; it feels fast and fluid while maintaining tight control over player movements.
