SoulWorker Anime Legend is a fast-paced anime free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). It was first developed for PC in 2016 by Lion Games Studio, a South Korean game developer. It wasn’t until February 2018, did Gameforge publish the English version.
In July, Gameforge, in association with Astrogen Games, announced the release of the latest addition to the SoulWorker franchise. SoulWorker Anime Legends is a daring mobile version (Android, iOS) of the famous PC version of SoulWorker. The game is a more stylish toon shade, with eccentric and exciting characters, an aesthetic post-apocalyptic anime world to explore.
The game explores a world overtaken by the chaos and destruction, which were unleashed after a portal, called the Void, was opened. The Void let wicked demons and beasts into the world, whose sole purpose is was to obliterate humanity. It becomes the duty of the SoulWorkers to save the earth. Available on both IOS and Android, this game offers players the chance to battle these respawning demons through one of the six different heroes.
Who are the SoulWorkers?
Fifteen years after the Great Void appeared and began wreaking havoc on the earth, six children who disappeared are returned. These children are empowered by the gods to save the planet, and they become the SoulWorkers. The Soulworkers draw their powers from their soul, which transforms into lethal weapons with which they can wage war against the Great Void and its demons.
The Characters
There are six of these developable characters. Here is a brief introduction to each of them:
Haru Estia
Haru Estia is a 17 years old kind-hearted teenager. She lost everything and everyone she loved to the Great Void. Although she comes off looking soft and shy on the surface, she bottles up a lot of anger and revenge.
Haru is a ferocious and powerful fighter who uses her Soulum sword – a giant sword – to tear down her opponents. Despite her tragic backstory, she is known to be affectionate towards her friends. She is your go-to option if you are looking to get a feel of the game.
Erwin Archlight
Barely a year older than Haru, Erwin is most notable for his fearlessness, curiosity, and skill. His interest drove him to enter into the Great Void out of boredom. Coming back, his source of power is a pleasure. It’s all fun and games for Erwin, who shows no caution or fear in the deadliest enemies’ faces.
He possesses the Gun Jazz, a twin pistol with which he deals deadly long-range shots at opponents. He is best for long-ranged attacks, sort of like the sniper of the squad. His mastery of the twin pistol often makes the enemies’ speed ineffective. However, he needs a getting used to before you can enjoy him.
Lily Bloommerchen
But for the Void, Lily would have made the perfect spoilt rich kid description. Coming from a wealthy heritage, Lily is dragged into the Void after the death of her brother. Upon entering back, she is full of rage and can sometimes be condescending.
She wields the Mist Scythe with which she deals heavy critical blows on opponents. She has the best significant hit damage and critical hit rate, best for people who want to end the fight quickly with a knockout. Her only downside is her over-reliance on the Soul Guage, without which she becomes weak.
Jin Shiatsu
This 17year old boy brawler is by the classical hero character. He has an unrelenting drive for justice and would never suffer injustice to go unpunished. Unlike the other characters, he charged into the Great Void himself, in a bid to rescue the victims of the Void. Jin Seipatsu’s soul power comes from his Integrity and love for his friends. He would attract fire to himself in a bid to protect his allies from attack.
Trained as a defensive fighter, Jin uses his Spirit Arms to bring brawling skills to a fight. Jin’s greatest weapon is his fists; he is the best character for a close-range fistfight. He always attracts enemy fire to himself to protect his allies, which leaves him vulnerable most times. He is a team player with the best HP any other Soulworker can offer, but he is only useful in brawl-style kind of fights.
Iris Yuma
Iris Yuma was the youngest child of the Yuma Dynasty- a family rooted in a long line of tradition. Before the Great Void incidence, it was supposed to take over and continue as the custodian of the family’s heritage. However, during the Void, her entire family was murdered, leaving her filled with rage and bitterness. Her anger fuels her and acts as the source of her powers. She holds on to her rage within and outside the battlefield.
She controls the Hammer Stol, with which she crushes her enemies in large groups. The hammer is useful for both long and near range enemies and can be used to smash enemy artillery. However, the price for wielding such heavy weapon is speed and strength. This can be made up for by surrounding her with a strong team.
Stella Unibell
Stella looks young and innocent looking; however, she can be a ferocious opponent. Her power comes from the music she plays on her Howling Guitar. She uses this guitar to radiate her sadness and to stun her opponents in their numbers. Her wolf spirit protects her during a fight.
