I am excited to discuss this game, but I am unsure why. It must be because of the new thrilling adventure New Tales From The Borderlands brings this year, its fresh adventure, and exciting new characters. My hands are itching to take you through this game, through the ups and downs of New Tales From The Borderlands.

This graphic adventure video game was developed by Gearbox studio Québec and published by 2k. The awe-struck adventure is a spin-off of the borderlands series and a successor to Tales from the borderlands (2014-2015). It was released in October 2022 for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series x and Series S.

Friendship and Adventure: The Perfect Ingredients for Trouble

The existence of New Tales From The Borderlands is something any adventure lover would be thrilled to discover. The 2014 original got me with excellent and alluring writing, a terrific sense of humor, and amazing characters. The main characters, Fiona and Rhys, sure made the adventure an exciting one. New tales from the borderlands is quite unrelated to the 2014 original and comes with their very own fresh new tale, characters, and stories. I was initially disappointed since I wanted to see more of my favorite characters (Fiona and Rhys). I soon got over the heartbreak a few minutes into the game. Perhaps, it’s time for a new beginning.

Meet The New Characters That Will Blow Your Mind

New tales from the borderlands introduce new characters, including Anuradha Dhar “Anu,” Octavio Wallace Dhar, and Francine Miscowicz “Fran.” Anu is an altruistic scientist. You may call her the know-it Scientist. Octavio, her adopted brother, is quite different from her. He is street-smart and lives for fame and fortune. Lastly, we have Fran, a killbot who is a Frozen Yoghurt Owner and uses a hover chair for mobility. I’ll advise you don’t let his inability to move properly fool you.

The player’s job is to guide these three amazing characters on an adventure, helping them achieve their hopes and dreams as they fight against Tediore agents, monsters, and criminals that ravage the planet. The three protagonists, Anu, Octavio, and Fran, must work together to find the vault key, which will lead them and grant them access to a vault stashed with treasures that can change their lives forever.

5 Episodes of Pure Bliss, Anticipation, and Adventure

New Tales from the Borderlands is a five-part episodic game set in the cruel world of Pandora, somewhere between the events of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3. The five episodes contain 20 chapters the trio must tackle to reach their expected end. Episode one introduces the three main characters, Anu, the anxious know-it-all scientist, her street-smart brother Octavio, and Fran, a bot with anger management problems. The episode has four choices and four difficult choices, and each choice you make directly affects your future in the game.

After Tediore’s first invasion, the three main characters come together for the first time in the game. Episode two ushers the player to character relationships and building. Here, your dialogue with characters is affected by your choices. Fran’s Shop gets blown to pieces, and the three protagonists must figure out what they need to do to stop Susan Coldwell from taking control of Promethea. The episode shows us the relationship between the Trio, Anu, Octavio, and Fran. In this episode, they need to work together to Stop Tediore.

Anu and Octavio have a sibling relationship, and they work together toward achieving their life’s goals. Octavio and Fran share a relationship built on the respect Fran has for Octavio, especially to calm her anger. So, while playing the game, look out for dialogues that may anger or provoke Fran and avoid them.

It Gets Tougher and More Interesting in Chapter 3

Chapter three of this episode contains the information that Tediore soldiers were moving in Meridian City’s sewers to look for the vault’s entrance, leaving the player with a tough decision. It is tough because not only will it impact how you progress in this chapter, but it will also affect Anu’s relationship with Fran and Octavio. In this episode, you will defeat Tediore’s soldier on the bridge and discover a new vault lander.

The trio has defeated the giant vault monster and prevented Tediore from acquiring the treasure. In Episode three, the trio has to figure out what they must do with the all-powerful artifact they obtained in episode two. One of the crystals they found, “the green crystal,” is a healing potent, which can instantly heal any physical wound. This crazy trio tries out the green crystal by shooting each other. Insane, right? After the testing, they plan to harvest the crystal power using Anu’s phaser device, but the device is broken, so you need to find materials in Fran’s Shop to fix it.

Episode Four Takes You Closer to Your Goal

Fast forward to Episode four, you fight and defeat an enemy getting the last piece you need to fix the Phaser. Anu, trapped in a coffin, finally finds a way to break free and escapes. The road doesn’t get easy because the keeper knows she is trying to escape and tries to kill her before she runs away. However, he does not succeed. Anu escapes and is reunited with Octavio.

Fast forward to episode five, the final entry of the episodic adventure; with the trio close to achieving their dreams, they get captured. They are separated from each other, and the realization of their dreams and ambitions is threatened by Susan Coldwell when she gets her hands on the two Anahatium Shards.

Conclusion

New Tales from the Borderlands is such an amazing game, and it takes you on a sweet adventure with action and humor. All the choices you have made from the onset of the game play a role in determining how your ending will be. If you love adventure games filled with action, you should check out this game. There isn’t a boring moment with Tales from the borderlands.
