If you played Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, you’ll know the fun and adventure await you in Luigi’s Mansion 3. The game is a blast to play, offering players a spooky and fun-filled adventure that is sure to keep them engaged for hours non-stop. Developed by Next Level Games and published by Nintendo, the game is available on the Nintendo Switch platform and was released in 2019. The latest update for the game was released in 2020, which added a new multiplayer mode called ScreamPark. This, alongside many other new and improved features, are what makes Luigi’s Mansion 3 such an enjoyable game to play for both new and old players.

Begin an Unforgettable Adventure with Mario’s Brother

The game follows Luigi, the brother of the famous plumber Mario, as he embarks on a quest to rescue his friends who have been trapped in a haunted hotel. Armed with his trusty Poltergust vacuum cleaner and the help of his ghostly companion, Gooigi, Luigi must explore the hotel’s many floors, solve puzzles, and capture ghosts to save his friends and escape the spooky establishment.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 features a variety of puzzles that players must solve to progress through the game. These puzzles range from simple environmental puzzles, where players need to find hidden switches or objects to progress, to more complex puzzle rooms that require players to use their wits and the game’s mechanics to solve them.

The Single Player Modes Offer More

Luigi’s Mansion 3 offers a single-player story mode where players venture through a 17-floor hotel, each boasting a distinct theme and atmosphere. The hotel features a range of ghosts, including a boss ghost that the player must defeat. Some floors, like Floor 2, do not have a specific theme. Unlike Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, which offers pre-defined mission structures across several mansions, Luigi’s Mansion 3 provides greater freedom for exploring the game’s setting. However, players cannot access floors via the elevator until they locate the corresponding button. The hotel’s main lobby and basement are the only floors connected by a staircase, bypassing the need for an elevator.

The Multiplayer Mode offers a Variety of Options

Luigi’s Mansion 3 has a multiplayer mode that allows up to eight players to play locally or online. The mode features two options: “ScareScraper” and “ScreamPark.” In “ScareScraper,” players engage in cooperative gameplay, working together to clear 5 or 10 floors of a randomly generated high-rise building by locating and capturing ghosts. This mode uses the same controls as the single-player mode and lets players control four different color variations (green, purple, orange, or blue) of either Luigi or Gooigi. “ScreamPark” is a competitive team match where players compete against each other.

Beautiful and Realistic Graphics Design

One of the first things players will notice about Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the game’s impressive graphics. The environment’s attention to detail is remarkable, with each hotel floor featuring its unique theme and atmosphere. From the grand ballroom to the pirate-themed restaurant, each area is beautifully rendered and filled with small details that make the game world feel alive. The lighting effects also help to create a spooky atmosphere that adds to the game’s overall aesthetic. Whether exploring the haunted hotel or battling ghosts, the game’s graphics will leave you in awe.

Remarkably Easy User Interface

The game’s interface is also intuitive and easy to use, with simple controls that make it easy for players to jump right into the action. The Poltergust vacuum cleaner is a joy to use, with players able to suck up furniture, break objects, and capture ghosts. Adding Gooigi, a second playable character made of goo adds an extra layer of complexity to the game’s puzzles and allows for some creative problem-solving.

The controls are easy to learn, you won’t fumble around trying to figure out how to play, and the game quickly becomes an enjoyable experience. Along with the game’s fantastic graphics, the soundtrack is also excellent. The music perfectly matches the game’s spooky theme, adding to the game’s immersion.

An Interesting Storyline to Keep You Hooked

Luigi’s Mansion 3 has an interesting storyline that keeps players engaged throughout the game. The storyline involves Luigi, Mario, and their friends, who were invited to a luxurious hotel for a promised-filled vacation. However, the hotel turns out to be haunted by ghosts. Players must help Luigi navigate the haunted hotel, capturing ghosts and solving puzzles to save his friends.

The game’s storyline begins with Luigi, Mario, Princess Peach, and a group of Toads traveling to the Last Resort for a vacation. However, upon arrival, they discover that the hotel’s owner, Hellen Gravely, has ulterior motives. She traps the group in the hotel and turns Mario, Peach, and the Toads into paintings. Luigi is the only one left to save them, and he must explore the hotel’s floors, each with a unique theme and layout, to rescue his friends and defeat the ghosts.

The Humorous and Charming Characters Make it More Exciting

What sets Luigi’s Mansion 3 apart, however, is its sense of humor and charm. The game has quirky characters, hilarious animations, and clever pop-culture references that keep me chuckling throughout my playtime. From the hotel staff, who are all secretly ghosts, to the various bosses Luigi must defeat, each character is well-written and full of personality.

Combat in Luigi’s Mansion 3 is also fun and satisfying. Luigi has various tools, such as the Poltergust G-00, which can suck up ghosts and objects, and the Strobulb, my favorite, stun ghosts. The game offers a good balance between combat and exploration, and the combat never feels repetitive or tedious. Luigi can also use special abilities, such as slamming ghosts on the ground or creating a shockwave to defeat multiple ghosts simultaneously.

Conclusion

Despite these minor flaws, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a fantastic game that is well worth the price of admission. With its impressive graphics, engaging gameplay, and infectious sense of humor, the game will surely be a hit with gamers of all ages. Whether you’re a fan of the original Luigi’s Mansion games or new to the series, Luigi’s Mansion 3 offers a delightful adventure that will keep you entertained for hours. Overall, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a great addition to the Nintendo Switch library, offering players a spooky, fun-filled adventure full of charm and personality. With its gorgeous graphics, intuitive controls, and clever puzzles, the game will satisfy casual and hardcore gamers alike. If you’re looking for a game that is both fun and challenging, then Luigi’s Mansion 3 is worth checking out.
