The Call of Duty franchise has built a solid name as a captivating shooter game over the years. However, gamers have only had the chance to enjoy the competitive game on PC and controllers. Now, with Call of Duty: Mobile, gamers can immerse themselves in the riveting experience on their mobile phones – be it Android or iOS.

Call of Duty: Mobile also brings something different – an online shooter game experience. This free-to-play version doesn’t comprise the PC and console versions. Instead, you get equally engaging gameplay, except that you now have touch controls rather than consoles and keyboards. The game’s graphics are incredible, but that depends on the type of smartphone you’re using.

Mobile Version? It Hardly Looks So

Call of Duty: Mobile gives the same mechanics and pace we’re all used to. While some game modes are missing, you still get to enjoy a couple of them. The absorbing multiplayer Frontline, the fascinating Gun Game, and even the enjoyable Domination are all available. There is also the 5v5 game mode, with two teams of five players trying to level one another down.

If you’ve played Call of Duty on PC over time, using the touch screen controls on Call of Duty: Mobile will feel somehow. Yet, it’s a change many gamers won’t find it so hard to adjust to. Besides, the game’s so optimized for smartphones that you’ll get the ultimate mobile gaming experience. It’s also necessary to mention that the controls are easy to use, and there’s little chance you’d have to search for the right screen buttons.

The first few matches will have the players warring against non-player characters. Gunning them won’t pose that much of a problem. Popping in a headshot is as simple as it sounds. But that feeling of comfortable victory goes down quickly, as you get real foes to handle. These hard-fought battles do bring incredibly satisfying win – but usually after a couple of defeats.

With the game’s numerous customization options, you can play the way you want it. Tired of having to position your weapon and shoot when you see an enemy? Then switch the button that allows your guns to fire at an opponent that falls in the crosshairs spontaneously. While this setting makes things a lot easier, but where’s the fun in that? By the way, without precision, there’s no chance every shot will make a hit.

Call of Duty Game Modes As Exciting As Ever

For more enterprising action, Call of Duty: Mobile has the widely popular Battle Royale mode that features 100 players. These matches have a larger map and, of course, more satisfaction at every win. But they’re less characteristic than 5v5 mode. Winning such matches requires more strategy than even shooting accuracy. You’d be lucky to be the last man standing in your first few tries.

The Battle Royale mode bears semblance to the Blackout mode in Black Ops 4 and Warzone.  You have class options, vehicles, whistles, and other elements. The matches are brief, but the mode passes as the most exciting in Call of Duty: Mobile. Shooting down a strange helicopter in the game offered as much fun as the intense moment of patiently sniping an approaching foe.

Other game modes remain pretty the same as you’d find them in Modern Warfare and Black Ops. In Domination, you’re thrown into the thrill of gaining control over a specific area. You’d expect that to come with warding off intruders wanting to find a foothold there too. Frontline, just Deathmatch, have you spawning from the team’s base after taking a deadly shot. You can jump right back into the game, picking up from where you left.

Play Your Favorite Shooters For Free

With all of Call of Duty’s exciting features, you’d expect to spend a couple of dollars to revel in it. However, what you get is a mostly free game. What’s even better? There are no interrupting ads to annoy the hell out of you.  However, there’s a recurring pop-up of Premium features, especially when launching the game.

These premium offers include unique gun covers, sprays, battle passes, and much more. You can buy a premium currency bundle for $100 of real money, which, in turn, allows you to purchase any of the premium stuff. Because these features are non-essential, I doubt I’d ever spend my money on them. That I can enjoy several hours of free gameplay is enough for me, and ignoring these alerts isn’t so much work.

The game has a store where you can purchase weapons, gun skins, boxes, and sprays. You can buy items with credits and COD points earnable in the game. Call of Duty: Mobile allows you to earn rewards like loot boxes by watching video ads. I didn’t expect that from a high-ranking game of its caliber, but I’d be losing out not taking advantage of it.

Conclusion

Call of Duty allows you to choose to play as either a first-person or a third-person. While both options are incredibly fantastic, the first-person gameplay was more thrilling. The shoot-outs are unbeatably fun to play. There’s no iota of doubt many gamers will fall in love with Call of Duty: Mobile. You don’t have to be in your living room to enjoy your favorite game. Anywhere you are – right on your mobile phone – you can enjoy the enthralling Call of Duty – with nothing lost in quality.

Considering all of Call of Duty’s amazing features, it’s only right to rank it above its contemporaries. It looks fantastic, the mechanics are seamless, and the controls are easy to learn. Without a doubt, the game will easily be around the scene for a long time to come.
