Knockout City is a fast-paced action multiplayer video game published by Electronic Arts and developed by Velan Studios. Knockout City was released in late May 2021 and can be played on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. 

Knockout city is a lot like a typical game of dodgeball, as its rules are just as similar. Your goal as a player is to attack your opponents by knocking them out with a ball. Players are provided with different kinds of balls that affect enemies from the opposing teams in different ways.

Knockout City’s developers, Velan Studios, described it as a dodgebrawl title that is meant to be intuitive and challenging. Knockout City is great for newcomers and competitive players and provides modes to suit these kinds of players. 

Gameplay

Knockout City is as chaotic and frantic as it is fun. It is a competitive multiplayer dodgeball game in which players are assembled into teams and attack other teams by throwing balls at them. Each player’s goal is to attack enemy players by launching various kinds of balls at them. The different types of balls include the Moon Ball, which helps the player hold it to jump much higher, and the Bomb Ball, a time bomb that explodes once it makes contact with enemies from the opposing team.

Knockout City focuses and team-based deathmatches and even has a future in which a player can throw another player as a ball! It brilliantly recognizes the sport’s projectile-based mechanics and transforms it into a great video game. You can time your button press as precisely as you want and catch a ball coming at you instead of getting knocked out. You can also trip up your enemies’ timing by charging the ball, making a fake throw, and even passing the ball to a teammate who has a better vantage point. Players have multiple jumps, can evade and perform glide maneuvers, all in a creative attempt to stay mobile. You must also remember that balls are sparse, and as such, you need to throw wisely. While you might not need to worry too much about accurate or precise aiming, chucking without a plan or strategy is not the best idea.

There are 5 multiplayer maps and 6 distinct types of balls to use while playing in matches. Each of these maps has special features that make every match you play across them an intense and unique experience. 

The types of balls include the Cage Ball, Bomb Ball, the Moon Ball, Multi Ball, and the Sniper Ball. The Cage Ball allows players to hit another opponent with their trap team made for a one-hit knockout. The moon ball helps players to defy gravity and jump from very high platforms. The highest ball gives players a 3-in-1 effect. A player with a Multi Ball can take out multiple opponents at once with the three balls to get a swift and easy knockout. The sniper ball is mainly used for making long-range shots. It has to be charged to be used properly, and when thrown too early without correctly being accused, it may have a slow velocity.

Locations And Matches You Can’t Ignore

Standard matches are played between two teams of three players. The first team that reaches 10 knockouts is the winner of the round. Teams are required to win two rounds before the game is finally over.

Locations vary from back alleys with pneumatic tubes to skyscraper rooftops, busy streets, or a local burger joint. The spirit of dodgeball thrives, and you can continue to duke it out no matter what and no matter where you are. Busy dodgeball locations can have you developing your ability to split your attention as you have to watch out for moving cars, rooftop drops, and even the occasional wrecking ball.
