Hood: Outlaws & Legends was developed by an action video game developed by Sumo Newcastle, with Focus Home Interactive as the publisher. The adventure role-playing game was released on many platforms, including Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S platforms on May 10, 2021

A Game Unlike Any Other RPG You’ve Played 

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a strategic action/adventure RPG that takes place in an open-world environment where players can take up a role to rebel against the State through a well-planned heist. 

This new RPG is very different from other games in its genre – it does not have any pre-set character classes or levels; instead, players can develop their character by picking skills and traits that suit their playstyle. There are no dice rolls or random encounters – instead, everything is based on player decisions and strategy, which gives this RPG an interesting twist.

The State Can Also be Punished – By The Outlaws 

Hood: Outlaws & Legends tells the story of a group of outlaws who quest to destroy the corrupt State. The plan was to steal the State’s treasure chest from the claws of the evil Sheriff. The money stolen will be given back to the people as a form of compensation for their troubles. The money can also be used to improve characters’ skills. 

May the Best Thief Win

The two groups of outlaws have to compete against each other to steal the treasure chest. Hood: Outlaws & Legends has simple gameplay yet engaging and challenging with a captivating plot. The rules are simple. Locate the treasure, get in, take out the treasure. You win! The locations of the hidden treasures are many, and all teams must locate each spot, defeat the bosses, and take over the treasures of that location. Some of the locations include;

The ancient Graveyard with so many hidden secrets, such as the State’s vast hidden treasures. There is the Marshland, an old town that was a haven for outlaws. Now destroyed and used as the perfect hideout for the State’s riches and strictly protected. The coastline is also another location, fortified by different elements to keep anyone and everyone away. 

After being taken over by the State, the Citadel is now home to the State’s treasure and is constantly guarded by the heinous soldiers. The outpost is now impassable unless you pay huge amounts of money to the State’s hidden coffers. Finally, there is the Mountain which protects the greatest treasures yet. It’s all about strength, wit, strategy, focus, and a little bit of magic. 

Selecting an Unbeatable Team to Defeat the State

There are five main heroes you can choose from. Each with their stories. You must plan how to work with each team member and how or when to leverage their unique skills to defeat the ruthless AI guards. 

The Ranger

The ranger is a legendary name thought to have been long dead after his supposed execution by the state. His major mission is to kill all who have oppressed the people. He is a great sniper and infiltrator, and nothing goes outside his watchful eyes. He is by far my most favorite character in the game. The ranger’s main weapon is a longbow which can be charged for maximum performance. The longbow has farsight abilities and a flash gear that blinds and confuses targets. The ranger is very good at scouting the environment and locating targets which are also helpful for locating rival outlaw groups. To upgrade and improve the ranger’s skills, unlock the melee weapons and customize his sniper training. 

The Hunter 

Rumor has it that the hunter is a daughter to a powerful noble in the land. Hers is a story of vengeance, and nothing stands in her way. Each failure makes her better and more deadly. Marianne is equipped with a burst-fire crossbow and has the power to remain invisible. She also uses smoke grenades during attacks.  She is the perfect hero for a job that needs to be done from the shadows. To improve Marianne’s skills, you should upgrade her crossbow to firebolts. Also, reset invisibility after each performance. 

The Brawler

The brawler accidentally killed his parents with his creation. Left with his only sister, he has vowed never to build weapons for war. He plans to rescue his kidnapped sister From the State. He is very skilled in close-quarter combat. He becomes unstoppable when you activate wrath ability on the sledgehammer. The Brawler’s wrath is the perfect tool for a vendetta. The explosive features of his hammer could kill all targets in sight. The brawler has the power to raise gates for his teammates. To improve the brawler’s strength, increase his momentum with the right combination of abilities. 

The Mystic 

The mystic is an inquisitor who was loyal to the State in all things. Things turned around after his master was falsely accused and tortured by the State. The obedient lad becomes a magical terror, ready to unleash his wrath on the State at every given opportunity. He uses the art of divination to fight his enemies. He is also equipped with a flail. The mystic can use his powers to detect close targets, and he can destroy such enemies with his poisonous smoke bombs. The mystic can heal teammates or to point out hidden enemies to them. To increase his powers, transfer the enemies’ health to his life through the vampiric powers. 

The Sellsword

The sellsword is a member of the eastern Emiri guard, who has dealt with the State for attacking her lands and people. Tooke is on a specific mission to execute a giant who had killed her lord during the raid. What better group to join in this land than a group that has vowed to destroy the State?  The sellsword is a tricky character who is equipped with the Nimcha blade. It is difficult for enemies to deal a blow against her since she is as elusive as ruthless. She corners the enemies to a tough point to hinder them. He bulwarks abilities can protect her teammates when she plants a giant shield to keep them safe from their enemies. She also instantly refills teammates’ gearboxes. To make the sellsword more powerful, improve the tar’s range and leverage the warden effect.

Conclusion 

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a game I can play as many times as possible. Everything is intriguing, from the characters and their stories to the combat system and gameplay. The game perfectly mixed-up magic, warfare, politics, and vendetta in a single plot. If you want something to keep you busy with your friends, Hood: Outlaws & Legends may just be the perfect game for you.
