Super Lucky’s Tale is the latest 3D platformer game from Playful, the creators of Lucky’s Tale. It’s a reimagining of the original, but this time it’s in VR. Super Lucky’s Tale is meant to be an introduction to VR gaming for kids, and as such, it seems to be more about exploration than a challenge. Super Lucky’s Tale is a 3D platformer video game developed by Playful Corp. and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released for the Xbox One family of consoles, Windows 10 PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 on November 7^th, 2017.

Beautiful and Colorful – Just Like Old Times

Super Lucky’s Tale is a 3D platformer game with an immersive environment. It is the sequel to the 2010 game Lucky’s Tale. It features cute graphics reminiscent of those in Nintendo games like Super Mario 64 and Legend of Zelda. The environments are bright and colorful and feel like they’re made out of cardboard cutouts, which gives them a nice sense of depth and realism without being too distracting or making things too dark or gritty.

Lucky is Ready to Save the Day! 

Super Lucky’s Tale follows a group of animals, including Lucky, an anthropomorphic fox, his sister Lyra, and his friend Yooka. At the beginning of the game, Lucky’s friends are captured by Jinx, a sneaky, mischievous cat. Jinx also takes the book of ages, and it is up to Super Lucky to save his friends and recover the book before it falls into evil hands and is used to create chaos in the world. To find out where Jinx is hiding the book of ages, he and his friends need to explore every nook and cranny of this beautiful world.

A Compelling and Adventurous Gameplay 

The game puts players in control of Lucky, who has to save the world from Jinx, the villainous Kitty Litter, and his army of monsters. He must stop Jinx from invading and taking over his home and the world. Lucky travels to the valley with his sister and friend to undertake this mission. 

They will have to collect various scattered pages of a powerful spell that can banish Kitty Litter for good. In this game, players must beat enemies and obstacles by jumping on them with a single button press. Super Lucky’s Tale consists of thirty-six levels, each with its unique boss fights built using a level editor that lets players create their levels.

Players must complete various challenges to progress through the game’s story mode. These challenges include collecting coins, finding hidden objects like eggs or other collectibles like gems or acorns to unlock new levels and characters in an overworld map. The player can jump to reach higher ground or defeat enemies using Lucky’s tongue and tail to deal major blows. 

Exploring the Super Lucky’s World

Along their journey, they will visit four different worlds: The Cliffsides (a coastal area), The Candy Kingdom (a world made of candy), The Forest (made up of ruins and other natural terrains), and Mount Fuzzy (a snowy mountain). You will be able to explore these environments while collecting gold coins and gems.

You can also unlock hidden areas and secrets by using their wits and cleverness to solve puzzles. Players can locate hidden treasure chests or identify distant locations needing assistance by listening for clues coming from surrounding environments. Navigate the area by walking, jumping, crouching, or rolling. There are also various obstacles like trees or rocks that you must navigate to keep moving. 

Choosing Between Two Captivating Game Modes

The game features two major gameplay modes: “Adventure” and “Arcade.” In the Adventure mode, you play Lucky, who tries to save his sister from Jinx, an evil cat with human-like intelligence. The player controls Lucky the Fox in a third-person perspective while exploring a series of locations in an open world environment to find hidden collectibles and new areas to unlock with keys found during exploration. In Arcade mode, Arcade mode lets you explore the world, collect gold coins, and run through challenges on your terms. The game mode shows that the developers emphasized adventure, exploration, and puzzle-solving. 

So Many Weapons to Choose From! 

There is an arsenal of weapons to help you defeat the enemies and obstacles in this game. The weapons can be broadly classified as melee weapons and projectile weapons. A player can only use one weapon at any given time, but once they find another weapon, they can switch to it at any time by pressing “1” on their keyboard or controller. 

You must wait for a certain amount of time before switching back to the original weapon (or if they switch to a new one). The most common weapon used in Super Lucky’s is Lucky’s tail which he swings around to bash enemies and activate switches. Other weapons include a basic wand, a sword, a shield, and a fishing rod. 

There is a multitude of other weapons that you can equip and use in combat. There is also a slingshot that can be used to stun enemies to knock fruit out of trees. Another weapon is an ice cream scoop which is more effective against metal enemies. The game also includes a scythathich can break a stone, cut down plants and defeat enemies at range.

Conclusion 

At first glance, Super Lucky’s Tale looks like it will be most appealing to younger children and gamers who like cute and cuddly animals. However, you’ll have a change of mind after playing the game for a few minutes.  The game has an easy to learn but difficult to master gameplay that many critics have praised.
