It is safe to say that Lineage 2: Revolution is one of the most underrated massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) out there. Developed by Netmarble, this mobile game is sort of a prequel to NCSoft’s Lineage 2: Goddess of Destruction. Released globally in 2017, Lineage is a free-to-play game compatible with android and iOS users.
If you enjoy high-level games that keep you hunting for hours and combatting a couple of monsters, Lineage 2 is the game for you. It follows much of the MMO tropes where you kill monsters to progress. Lineage almost immediately prompts you to use the “auto-quest” feature, which puts the game on auto pilot and makes you a spectator.
Interesting MMORPG Gameplay
You begin by creating your character and choosing a race. There are six races, including Human, Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Orc, and Kamael. These races have different specializations, such as Warrior, Archer, Mage, etc. You progress through the game by taking quests and killing mobs. The dark elves are some of my best characters.
You get to battle many wild beasts while still maintaining strength. The game has a very large scale for a mobile game and is interesting and unique. Warrior, Rogue, and Mystic are the three base classes for each race. Lineage 2: Revolution featured different kinds of gameplay for different types of players, which is what good MMOs should possess.
Specialized Classes are available for each basic class, allowing players to branch out into various paths, and offering them more options in playstyle and party composition. These one-of-a-kind classes are available at level 31 after completing a series of class change missions. New active and passive skills are unlocked once the game is finished.
Wide Variety Of Character Customization
Character customization, like the race system, is now quite extensive. You have only three different hairstyles to select from. Automating is the next step, and Lineage 2 does a great job. Quest objectives are automatically routed, and the only thing you could do to improve it would be to include auto-combat.
Well, I think I’ve always wanted to see how Lineage 2 would play if I watched someone else play it rather than playing it myself. It is also a very fun game to play beyond the gores of the city.
Great Graphics For Mobile Game
Lineage 2 stands out for the great graphics and RPG system. For a phone game, this is really impressive, although it looks better and plays better on a good device. There are very few mobile games that can compete with Lineage based on graphics, which shows the level of attention to detail that went into it.
They are so good that I believe they can compete with laptop graphics. This is one masterpiece built on the Unreal Engine 4 system, and it is just out of this world. The servers have become very jampacked in recent times, making it somewhat challenging to log onto the game. If you successfully log in, you may be met with stuttering gameplay etc.
You get the opportunity to pick great skills, and you are free to create your variations of special inclinations. The fact that this varies for every player makes the game more dynamic. Another thing I liked was the auto-equipment of individual gear.
Great Options To Upgrade Weapons
Another thing I liked was the ability to upgrade one’s equipment. It’s a system that I believe other MMORPG developers should use. You can enhance your existing gear not only by deconstructing it and utilizing it as basic material, but you can even further upgrade it once you’ve maxed out its level by merging two max level gear pieces together and resetting its level to 1. The dungeon is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable aspects of the MMORPG genre.
You can play Lineage 2 in three modes: normal dungeons, temporal rifts, and monster dungeons. There are also a variety of actual dungeons in which you can participate, which can sometimes be overwhelming. There is also the alchemy system where you can create elixirs that keep you going. You can customize the visual appearance of your gear in the game. This is not like other games with mediocre MMO and gears that dont alter their looks. The fighting looks really great even though you are battling more skilled NPCs.
Interesting Soundtrack That Influences Gameplay
The game comes with really useful sound effects that show you how to control your character to avoid being killed by the bosses. The massive gameplay may be a challenge to new gamers because it requires a lot of grinding. The scale of the game is so large that the tutorial takes hours. New MMO players may find it exhausting, but it becomes easier when you get through that stage.
Then I discovered that every dungeon is auto-completed, like the great majority of stuff in the game. I also noticed that you must “recharge” using gems to continue accessing dungeons. Diamonds are a type of currency that may be purchased in the cash shop or acquired in modest amounts in-game through various daily activities.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Lineage 2 is a great improvement over its predecessor. It is not the greatest entry-level game for new gamers in the MMO world. It allows you to progress fairly quickly at the beginning of the game, which is good. There are in-app purchases, but the game is not built on how much you can spend within the game, which is a good thing.
Lineage 2 has successfully taken the best things from PC RPG games and incorporated them into a mobile version while giving it a massive scale. No wonder it is one of the biggest games in South Korea, and it keeps going strong.
