There is something about the name of this game that gets me giddy. I hear “Clash of Clans”, and excitement bursts within me. Well, it’s just me and my love for a taste of action and fantasy, and the name of this game gives me both. So is the Clash of Clan that exciting? Let’s find out.

Clash of clans is a video game developed and published by SuperCell and was released in 2012. It is a strategic game where you have a village to build and protect. There’s a mixture of artificial-intelligence enemies and real-world friends and foes. The game is all about resources like shelter, cannons and decorations; you will need to spend in-game cash to purchase these resources. 

 Clash of Clans: A Game Theme That Keeps You At Ease

I was glad to see the news about Clash of Clan’s release. I envisaged an exciting village game with beautiful settings featuring buildings, resources, and battles. Thankfully, my expectations weren’t cut short after playing the game. Clash of clans has a fantasy-themed setting, where you can be a village chief. Who doesn’t want to be a chief, right? I know I do. 

As a chief, you are tasked to build your village using the resources acquired from attacking other players’ villages, earning rewards, buying them with medals or making them at your village. In Clash of Clans, players can conjoin to create clans. Players can create groups of up to fifty people, who can then participate in Clan Wars together, donate and receive troops, and chat with each other.

 It’s All About Gathering Resources 

The nature of the resources was one of the first features that caught my attention and fancy immediately after I started playing the game. I find the resources unique and exciting, especially the elixirs. Their major resources in the game are gold, elixir and dark elixir. The sound of elixir gives me the fantasy thrill I get from the best fantasy games and movies I’ve ever watched. 

Break Down Of Clash Of Clans: Let’s Go Deeper, Shall We?

First, Clash of Clans is an online multiplayer game. The game comprises different communities–clans, and there are troops trained to attack other players. It is through these attacks that you get to earn most of your resources. The game also features a pseudo-single-player campaign in which players can attack a series of fortified goblins. 

Clan Wars: Getting Ready for the Action

As the name implies, it is a battle between different groups of clans. When players group, they form clans. These clans can support each other by donating troops or giving advice. You may need to rebuild the special Clan Castle building to join a group. Clan leaders and co-leaders begin the war against other clans. They give a day’s notice for preparation, while the face-off – War Day– begins the next day. 

Determining the War Victors

Players can gain stars during the wars. The amount of stars gained by the players is determined by the amount of destruction they can inflict on the opponent. The amount of attacks a player can give per war is two, and the team with the highest stars at the end of the “War day” is declared the winner. 

In a situation where the amount of stars is equal in both clans, the clan that inflicts the most destruction is crowned the victor. There is also the bonus loot, where you get to earn even more resources. 

Collaborate with as Many Teams as You Need

The available war categories are 50v50, 40v40, 25v25, 20v20, 15v15, 10v10, and 5v5. There are also friendly challenges where Clan-mates could face each other; however, these challenges do not affect the player’s troops and don’t offer trophies or loot. 

Clan war leagues were introduced to the game in 2018. In the league, clans would fight seven other clans to get to the next league, and they could earn league medals by earning stars in Clan war leagues. The Clans with the highest stars will be promoted to a higher league, while those with the lowest stars are demoted to a lower league. These leagues are sure to keep you on your toes. They did the same to me. 

Clan Games and Magic Items

There are clan games where clan members work together to complete a task, earning them points, and when the points are accumulated, a new reward tier is unlocked, and players can pick one reward from each unlocked tier. Magic items can also be obtained through clan games and events. Magic is always fun when you plan to do something extraordinary. 

Clan Capital: There Has to be a Capital, Right? 

The central hub is the clan capital, where the whole Clan contributes to constructing and upgrading a massive base. Players in a Clan can contribute by building a new region. During raid weekends, clans can try to defeat other clans’ capital. Capital gold and raid medals are earned during raids.

Buildings: The Economy Base of the Game

The player needs to build certain structures to earn and store the currencies in the game. The buildings include gold mines, gold storages, elixir collectors and elixir storages. Gold is used to build defensive buildings and upgrade the town hall. The town hall allows access to more buildings and higher levels for existing buildings. Elixir is used to train troops, research in the laboratory, and build/upgrade buildings used to attack players’ bases.

Troops and Spells

In Clash of Clans, there are barracks and dark barracks, spell factories and dark spell factories. You can create the troops in the barracks with elixir and the troops in the dark barracks with dark elixir. To unlock more troops, you can upgrade barracks in a clash of clans to higher levels. The troops include barbarians, wizards, healers, dragons, P.E.K.K.A.s, and ice wizards. Each troop with its unique strengths and weaknesses. You can produce the spells are produced in the spell factories and are used in battles. The spell factory is created with elixir, and dark spell factories are created with dark elixir.

If you love resource-gathering games in rural settings, I would highly recommend Clash of Clans to you. It’s one of the few games that doesn’t get bored or tiring. It is a superb game, fun and exciting. It is a creative and amazing world where you can be chief; that’s the part I like most, fighting wars and building a strong village.
