Overwatch game developer, Blizzard Entertainment, changed the FPS genre forever with their new game, first launched in May 2016. It combines aspects of MOBAs and RPG video games to create an addictive and fun shooting game that’s perfect for beginners and experienced players.

If you love competitive shooters and want something that improves your blood pump and your skills, there’s no better game on the market than Overwatch. While the game has some issues holding it back from being perfect, it’s one of the best multiplayer shooters to come out in years and is an absolute blast to play with friends or strangers online.

A Futuristic World Where Robots and Technology Rule Our Earth

Blizzard is known for the amazing worlds and characters it creates, so the fact that Overwatch is a competitive online shooter should not come as much of a surprise. Overwatch is set in a futuristic Earth where robots have taken over due to global warming and an over-reliance on technology. The game centers around an international task force of soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities who all work together to restore peace to the world. You are dropped into one of four categories: Offense, Defense, Tank, or Support. Your job is to battle against other players in short matches until you’ve captured enough points or your team has been eliminated. Each character has a distinct personality with individual abilities and play styles.

Most Intense Gameplay I’ve Dealt With in a 2016 FPS

New game launches have become an industry event, with gamers and developers alike hyping up the release of their hotly anticipated titles. Overwatch is one game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, the same people who brought us World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. If you have played any of these games, you won’t have to be told that they know how to introduce intense action and anticipation to the mix. Overwatch is a first-person shooter with a fantastic cast of characters and an addictive gameplay loop.

The Gameplay is All About Attack and Survival

This flexibility makes Overwatch so appealing because you can switch your hero at any point in the game without costing your team or progress. You’ll quickly get accustomed to the different heroes, but some are more difficult to learn than others. However, all these difficulties are compensated by how enjoyable the game is when playing with friends against other people online who might not know how a particular character works.

You can play as one of 32 different heroes with their unique weapons, abilities, and playstyles. The goal is to defend your team from the opposing team’s onslaught. With a diverse cast of heroes and many gameplay modes, there is something for everyone in this critically acclaimed game. The characters are easy to learn but hard to master; depending on your play style, you can find the character that suits you perfectly.

So Many Exciting Game Modes to Choose From

The game’s various modes make it so much fun to play. Although you can easily alternate between five game modes, my all-time favorite is the Competitive Play mode. This mode brings out the action, the competition spirit, and the anticipation. Other game modes include Quick Play vs. AI, Weekly Brawl, Custom Games, and a Practice range and Tutorial.

The weekly brawl is also quite intense and requires a lot of strategies and skills to win a round.  It gets competitive as you try to hold off your enemies. You must defend your team at all costs while still trying to kill the other team! One thing that surprised me about this game was how well-balanced everything felt.

An Array of Impressive Game Characters

Overwatch is a team-based first-person shooter with one of the most diverse rosters of playable characters I’ve ever seen. Each character has unique abilities, making them feel very different to play.  In Overwatch, players choose one of many heroes and work with a team to complete various objectives. They range from tanks to snipers, and each one is unique.

The first character you will unlock is Tracer, a time-jumping adventurer who can blink through space and rewind her timeline. From there, you have Reinhardt, an armored knight who wields a giant energy shield on his arm. Next up, we have Soldier 76, a well-rounded soldier with an assault rifle and biotic field generator (soldier 76’s abilities). Next up is Bastion – an omnic defense machine that excels at taking out enemies with its devastating machine gun. Then there’s Hanzo, another archer hero who can scale walls as if they were made of paper. Alongside Hanzo is McCree, a man clad in black who never misses his target when he fires off rounds from his six-shooter revolver.

The list goes on for hours, but it suffices to say that Overwatch has some of the most dynamic characters seen in gaming yet. Even if you are not into shooters or MOBA games, this game should still be worth your while.

The Lore of Overwatch is Compelling

The world of Overwatch is home to a diverse population of heroes with different backgrounds, ethnicities, and beliefs. It’s an optimistic vision for a future where people can live in harmony even when they are from very different places. The game’s narrative promotes a message of inclusiveness and understanding. It tells us that there will always be disagreements. Still, you can work through them as long as you have an open dialogue with those with differing opinions.

It also touches on more difficult topics such as PTSD, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other themes related to current events. But what we find so compelling about this game is how effortlessly its storyline draws players into the hero’s universe; any gamer will get caught up in seeing what happens next for their favorite characters and empathizing with their experiences.

Conclusion

Overall, ‘Overwatch’ is an excellent game. It provides a unique experience that draws people in with its diverse characters. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is addictive, and the game is fun! If you want something new to play on your console or PC, I recommend picking up a copy of ‘Overwatch.’ It will be well worth your time. Overwatch is an excellent game that is fun to play alone or with friends. The core gameplay is addictive and satisfying, but it’s the characters that bring this game to life. I would recommend Overwatch to any player looking for a new shooter experience in the vein of Team Fortress 2.
