The world of LEGO is one of the most iconic, popular, and beloved brands. I remember when my brother and I would play with some of our favorite LEGOs as kids; it was magical. Now that we’re adults, we still love playing with LEGOs! And now there’s a new game that takes this beloved brand to new heights: LEGO Bricktales.
LEGO Bricktales is an amazing game for any LEGO fan! This game is available on various platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S. The game was produced by Thunderful Publishing and developed by Clockstone Studios in 2022.
Time To Help Grandpa Keep His favorite Amusement Park Open
You receive a call from your grandfather. A genius inventor, he has called you for help with his favorite amusement park after the mayor threatened to shut down and seize the land if the necessary repairs weren’t made to bring it up to code. Your little robot friend aids in restoring it, but before he can complete his work, you need to gather something else- Happiness Crystals. You would harvest them by making people happy and solving their problems, so strap in and take off on an adventure around the globe (at least through space) to lend your hand where needed- otherwise, his legacy might be left as just another sad story.
The Gameplay Starts Easily Enough
After telling you about the state of the amusement park, Grandpa summons you to see it for yourself and asks for assistance restoring power to his basement lab after an accident fried all the systems. In the tutorial stage (or first level) of the game, nothing is made too difficult at all, and it serves as an introduction to what will come later in different levels. Make a simple bridge across some water; reconnect some pipes; flip a switch; work your way back home again.
The levels are designed well enough that even if you’re not particularly good at puzzle games yet (or ever will be), there won’t be any problems getting through them safely, thanks to the option of redoing wrong moves at each level path. Hence, even if you place the wrong brick, you have many more chances. Even after failing a particular level, you still have plenty more chances left over before moving to another area where nothing bad happened beforehand.
Collectibles and Happiness Crystals are the Keys to Your Success
Throughout the game, you must find hidden collectibles like birds, chameleons, rabbits, ladybugs, or even hermit crabs which will help unlock new works. Some of them are quite easy to find, requiring simple tasks and puzzles that require only a little thought and planning before jumping into action.
You must also find five pieces of happiness (crystals) to help rebuild the abandoned park before the mayor comes to evict your grandpa. You can find these crystals in every stage, but it is different based on what challenges and levels. The general flow is similar across all stages – arrive at a new place, figure out how to make people happy, solve that issue by building something from LEGOs and then collect a happiness crystal which returns to your grandpa, who builds some theme park rides.
Another positive thing about going through each stage is noticing small hidden objects like an animal or treasure chest, which cannot be accessed unless you unlock a certain power first. Once collected, though, you’re free to go back whenever and explore every corner while getting access to secret areas and completing all 100% of every level’s side content rewards which includes obtaining new clothes for your builder as well as cosmetic bricks that you can use later when doing successful puzzles.
Explore 5 Worlds in an Unforgettable Brick-Building Adventure
Embark on an exciting journey to restore your grandfather’s rundown amusement park and save him from bankruptcy by asking the community for donations. Armed with the help of a little robot friend, you’ll travel through beautiful LEGO-built worlds like lush jungles, sunlit deserts, booming cities, dark castles, and Caribbean islands in pursuit of a solution. Along the way, you’ll solve puzzles that unlock new skills and explore all sorts of hidden easter eggs only accessible when using special abilities!
You can also try other creative tasks besides just exploring, such as making wine or crafting tools – anything is possible if you put your mind to it! What makes this game amazing, though, is its customization features; aside from being able to design custom rides within the confines of every world (e.g., designing a rollercoaster), players can even make their themed items at certain points to incorporate them into gameplay later down the line once unlocked!
LEGO Bricktales Takes The Open-World Approach
In video games, it’s easy to get stuck in playing one genre of game and thus never try something completely new out of boredom. Lego Bricktales, however, is an exception to this rule! It’s truly a game that anybody can enjoy, regardless of age or gaming experience level, and it features some unique gameplay elements that you won’t find anywhere else.
Lego Bricktales bring something unique to the block-building gaming formula and turn it on its head. Instead of being restricted to a few levels, you can explore a world filled with dozens of levels and collectibles. The game’s story is told through cutscenes that are free-roaming (meaning they’re not restricted by level progression), which gives you more freedom to go wherever you want within the game’s setting rather than being confined to one area at a time.
LEGO Bricktales takes us on an adventure with 8 of our favorite characters from 6 different worlds. From Maya’s Forest to Marsha’s Metropolis, each world has unique challenges for our heroes to overcome. With five unique worlds and endless opportunities for replayability, this game will keep you entertained for hours on end! Whether completing all the objectives or beating your best time, the gameplay never gets old because there are always new puzzles to explore. While it can be frustrating at times (especially when I was searching for that one last piece), I couldn’t stop playing because I wanted to see what happened next in their journey.
Conclusion
With so many new games and expansions coming out for LEGOs, it’s easy to forget about what made them so popular in the first place. With LEGO Bricktales, you can experience that classic brick-building puzzle-solving gameplay with all your favorite building block shapes and more. The game starts slow but quickly ramps up in difficulty, which makes it perfect for kids and adults alike. The levels are cleverly designed, and there are just enough collectibles sprinkled throughout each level to keep players entertained without getting frustrated. If you love puzzles, you will not be disappointed by this game!
