Diablo 2  was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and released in 2003 on the PC platform, but it has also been ported to Mac OS X (2010) and Linux (2013). The game is an action role-playing hack and slash game that falls into the subgenre of dungeon crawler.

Diablo 2  is a real-time action role-playing game released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2000. In it, players choose from five character classes—Amazon, Sorceress, Necromancer, Paladin and Barbarian—and journey through varied areas while battling Diablo’s forces and stopping him from unleashing Hell on Earth. Like its predecessor, Diablo 2 features randomly generated levels and quests as well as a variety of weapons with which to slay monsters. The game was well received upon release; critics praised its addictive gameplay, detailed story and interesting character classes.

The Storyline and Plot

Diablo 2  has an intricate storyline and plot. It begins with Deckard Cain in Tristram, a small town in Khanduras that is attacked by demons who are trying to retrieve an ancient Horadric artifact known as The Soulstone. The attacks occur shortly after Prince Albrecht of Khanduras disappears mysteriously while investigating rumors of a Cult of Andariel. After learning about these events from Cain, your character heads out on a quest to stop Diablo’s minions from opening The Void and releasing his brothers Mephisto and Baal (the main antagonists of both games).

You later discover that their real plan is to merge all three Realms together into Hell using The Soulstone, destroying them all in the process. To further complicate matters, there is also another cult that wishes to re-open The Gateways of Hades which Diablo originally used to enter our world back when he was alive. These cultists wish for power and wish to use said power for revenge on all those who imprisoned them many years ago within those pits. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals even if it means damning all humankind along with themselves. As you progress through your quests you will learn more about each of these two different cults, find out what happened to Albrecht (or so it seems), come across new allies including Adria who ends up being one of the few remaining people able to wield magic at such high levels like yourself.

Weapons

One of my favorite features in Diablo 2 is all of its weapons. In addition to some real classics from Diablo 1, there are plenty of new weapons to find and experiment with throughout your adventure. I’ve found that one particular weapon can completely alter how I play a certain section. That’s part of what makes it so exciting to find new items—it lets you customize your character even more than before.

Most recently, I ran into a really cool sword called The Meat Grinder. It has these awesome blades on either side which spin around as you swing—making it perfect for slicing through enemies! If you like finding new ways to deal massive amounts of damage (like me), then Diablo 2: Resurrected has got lots of cool things to help you out in your quest for victory! Just don’t make too many bets using your abilities in poker games…I learned that lesson when I was trying to level up fast during a playthrough.  ^_^; Oh well…next time, better luck!

Monsters

The plot and storyline in Diablo 2 was different to its predecessor, as while Diablo I focused on trying to stop a lord of hell, Diablo 2 centered around a player’s character being a Nephilim. The expansion is set 12 years after Diablo 2, in which Tyrael falls from grace due to his actions in that game and becomes mortal. He travels with a group of Horadrim to find those responsible for stealing fellow angel Izual’s soul, Azmodan and Belial. Along their journey, they discover that it has something to do with Sanctuary.

The game is played through one of two characters (in single-player mode), or through an internet multiplayer game; up to four players can play cooperatively, or they can compete against each other in a PvP mode. This expansion also allows all eight classes from Diablo II to be played, although some abilities were modified to work with the new skill system. For example, paladins and barbarians are now different classes. In addition, a host player may no longer drop out after starting a game because doing so will remove everyone else from that session. However, others cannot join a hosted game if someone has already joined it once as that character class.

Playing Tips

The gameplay mechanics in Diablo 2 remain largely unchanged from its predecessor. The characters do not gain experience levels, but instead grow more powerful as they kill monsters, with more experience being required to gain a level at higher character levels. Each time a character levels up, they may increase one of their skills by putting points into it, similar to character attributes in many other role-playing games.

Additionally, players are given ‘skill points’ upon level up which can be used to learn new skills and improve existing ones. Skills range from combat abilities such as increased attack speed with certain weapon types, or spells that damage enemies based on their health (the lower their health is, the greater effect the spell will have), to utility skills such as ‘Battle Orders’, which gives a boost to all nearby friendly characters’ maximum hit points and energy (used for casting spells). These skill trees can be reset for free once per difficulty; however doing so requires deleting your current character. Any further respects beyond that will cost 10 gold pieces each.

Conclusion

A Must-Play! : Diablo 2 was an exciting game to play for me. There are many types of different gameplay that players will love, especially if they’re big fans of role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. Players can control several characters in each gaming round which is awesome for people who want to play a team-based environment as a single player! The storyline and plot is where Diablo shines.

This great computer game franchise’s storyline holds up really well against today’s standards. People everywhere give it positive reviews because of how fun it is and how creative its storyline has become over time. I would highly recommend giving Diablo 2 a try, whether you played its predecessor or not; I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with your gameplay experience!
