This amazing side-scrolling mobile game was released on September 1, 2011, and has had five major updates ever since. What I love the most about Jetpack Joyride is that there is no time limit, so you can play until your heart’s content, which could be a very long time. You can also access the game through numerous platforms, including iOS, Flash, Android, Playstations 3, 4, Portable, and Vita. It is also available on BlackBerry PlayBook and 10, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8, and KaiOS.

So Many Levels, You Simply Can’t Get Bored

Jetpack Joyride is the follow-up to the popular smash hit game Fruit Ninja. Here, you play as Barry Steakfries, who has to fly through an obstacle course and collect coins while dodging lasers, spikes, and other obstacles. It’s a thrilling ride that will have you coming back for more. Every time you start up the game, it generates a new level for you. Your goal is to get on top of the leaderboard by getting as many scores as possible. 

You can complete a variety of missions as you playthrough. Just like in Subway Surfers, each mission you complete increases your stars. Completing certain missions could award as many as three stars, depending on their difficulty. Once you’ve acquired enough stars, you can complete a level. There is a total of 15 levels in Jetpack Joyride. Don’t worry, though. The last level doesn’t imply the end of the game. Thankfully, the missions are unlimited, which means unlimited fun.

Exhilarating and Satisfying Joyride, Yet So Dangerous 

Jetpack Joyride is a lot of fun, and it’s very addictive. I remember playing it for hours the first time I downloaded the game. It initially seemed so fast, with so many obstacles and scientists to avoid, but I soon got the hang of it. It felt so good to be one with the speed and flow. Like other endless runner games, you control your character by tapping the screen to make them jump over obstacles, collect coins, or fly higher with the jetpack.

I came across some nearly impossible-to-overcome obstacles, but help came along in the most unexpected way just when I was about to give up. For instance, CFT (Crazy Freaking Teleporter) Teleported out of danger just when a missile was trying to hit me. Other vehicles that could come in to help include Profit Bird, Strong Arm Machine, and Lil Stumper. These vehicles usually act as boosters whenever they appear. 

Impressive Game Design 

Jetpack Joyride is an endless runner game by Halfbrick Studios, makers of popular mobile games such as Fruit Ninja and Age of Zombies. In Jetpack Joyride, you must fly through an obstacle course without crashing and collecting coins along the way. The player controls a character wearing a jetpack, using one hand to control the direction.

You, however can’t control the speed, as it automatically resets itself depending on how long you’ve played the round. The more coins you collect, the higher your score will be! Each time you fail, you must start afresh, as the game only saves your progress level and score. Overall, Jetpack Joyride is a great game with plenty of replay value and keeps you occupied for hours. 

I love the game’s simple nature, as it lets you concentrate on the fun part. Jetpack joyride isn’t about skill or strategy; instead, it’s about luck and chance. You won’t have to shoot down enemies or bomb obstacles. All you have to do is to dodge them, and you’ll probably be fine. Watch out for the missiles, though. They could hit at any time. 

Powerups Make Jetpack Joyride Even More Fun

Jetpack Joyride lets you collect power-ups that add variety to each level like many mobile games. These range from a suit that makes you invincible for a few seconds to a booster that gives you an extra jump while gliding with your jetpack. You can acquire all these abilities by completing in-game objectives and clearing levels.

You can also collect coins and unlock new gear and vehicles to customize your character with. It’s worth noting that these items are purely cosmetic—the game isn’t pay-to-win—but they do make it easier to complete some tasks if you’re so inclined. And again, like most mobile games, there is always an option to purchase more coins or other items via in-app purchases. 

Minimalist Sound and Music That Suits the Style

The sound and music of Jetpack Joyride are very minimal. There are only a few sounds in the game. You can hear your character’s breathing when you start a game, but that is about it. The background music is also minimal except for when you collect coins or hit an obstacle. This type of minimalistic sound and music helps draw players into the game and keep their attention focused on the gameplay rather than distracted by unnecessary noises.

It’s All About Distance and Maneuverability

Jetpack Joyride aims to fly as far as you can and collect coins, power-ups, and boosts along the way. You do so by tapping your device’s screen to move your character left or right, while tapping again in midair will make him burst into a jet stream that propels you even further.  

Your goal is simply to get as many points as possible before reaching the end of each stage. While there are in-app purchases available for purchasing coins, gadgets, and upgrades, there is little need for such purchases at any level due to sheer luck and persistence. 

There are also different types of missions, including collecting items or racing without touching any coins. One thing that sets Jetpack Joyride apart from other games is its ability to surprise you with new content, all while keeping things fresh with new challenges every step of the way.
