Whether you love arcade games or not, you will love Netflix’s Poinpy. The game was developed by Developer Digital and Ojiro Fumoto, the creator of Downwell Creator, and published by Netflix in June 2022. Poinpy is available for Android and iOS devices for Netflix subscribers.

With a Netflix subscription, you can play the game free of charge. Netflix also promised not to include ads, hidden costs, or in-app purchases. This development made the game an ad-free zone and provided for seamless gameplay.

An Attention-Grabbing Arcade Game

The mobile gaming market has been booming recently, and millions download and play these games daily. However, some games stick out from the rest because they’re unique in their design and gameplay. One such game is Poinpy, which has been climbing the charts recently as one of the most popular games this year. If you haven’t played it yet, you’ll want to reconsider that Netflix subscription. Poinpy may just be your next favourite game.

Poinpy stands out from other games in the genre because it’s unlike anything else you’ll find in the Play Store or Apple’s App Store: It’s an old-school arcade game with traditional gameplay but some modern-day visual flair that makes it pop out of the screen. If you’re a fan of other Netflix original games such as Moonlighter, Into the Breech, or Stranger Things, you’ll want to give Poinpy a shot. This game is available on Android and iOS devices so that you can play anywhere! It features cute graphics and an interesting plot that will have you hooked from beginning to end. There are multiple levels in which you must complete different tasks to progress through the game.

Don’t Let the Bright 2D Colors Deceive You.

The graphic design of Poinpy is attractive to adults and children. Its bright and colourful view will surely grab your attention from afar. My first impression of Poinpy was that it would be quite an easy game. When I started playing, however, I discovered more depth in the game. Poinpy requires much more attention than you may expect from a typical mobile game.

In Poinpy, you play as Poinpy, a chubby greenish character who must run away from the giant blue monster constantly chasing him. The shapes of the characters usually remind me of my favourite bubble game. The blue monster keeps chasing you as you run around different areas. To slow down the monster, you must collect different kinds of fruits on the trees you come across. After collecting the fruits, you must blend them into specific kinds of juice the monster desires. Endeavour to pour the drink into the monster’s mouth.

Don’t be fooled by its adorable 2D art style and simplistic premise—this little puzzle platformer offers many depth, challenges, and hidden secrets. The gameplay is quite extensive to keep anyone glued to the screen, whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner.

Action-Filled Gameplay

The basic mechanics in Poinpy are simple: the player controls a character who has to avoid being eaten by a big monster. They try to score points by jumping over different platforms while hitting targets, avoiding targets, or collecting certain fruits. Your goal is simple, but mastering it takes practice—and there are plenty of opportunities for failure, making the game more fun and engaging.

The monster is not the only enemy you should watch out for in the game. Rather, it’s one of your easiest enemies since you can always slow it down with fruit juices. The most annoying enemies are, however, right there in the air. Big enemies, small enemies, and tiny or even tiny enemies are all trying to get a piece of you.

Some of the enemies try to ignore you as they move around you. Don’t feel safe, though; they’ll get you once you give them a chance. The ground rule is never to underestimate an enemy, no matter how big or tiny. Don’t get too worked up, though. You’ve got three lives on your plate.

Smooth Graphics for an Engaging Game

Poinpy is a 2D game with a retro style and look. It has a unique style, featuring bright colours and textures that help give it a very distinct look. The game also has much detail in its character models and environments, making their movements and emotions look more like real-world actions than you’d usually find in gaming these days.

The graphics and animation are very good; they look like they were inspired by old games featuring colourful bubbles. The character designs are cute but masculine enough so everyone can relate easily without feeling grossed out by them!

Satisfying User Experience

The overall experience I had with Poinpy was truly unique. Unlike many other gaming apps on my phone, which I only use to kill time on public transportation, I enjoyed playing around in Poinpy’s fantasy world. The colourful graphics and unique gameplay were a breath of fresh air compared to some of my older, more stagnant, and boring mobile games.

The game’s soundtrack is also one of its best features. It has a very relaxing and soothing feeling, making the game even more enjoyable than it already is. The simple piano-based tracks are very well done, as they’re catchy yet not distracting or overbearing; they add to the experience without being too much of a focal point in themselves.

Conclusion

When it comes to mobile gaming, I’ve seen all kinds of fun titles. However, I’m more drawn to unique experiences than big-budget blockbusters like Angry Birds or Candy Crush Saga. That’s why Poinpy is such a fantastic find for me—it has all of my favourite elements of a good game, yet it is visually stunning and super simple to play. The best part? It’s free! So if you’re looking for something new to try on your phone, check out Poinpy today!
